🏈 Aggies Kyle Allen transferring

Texas A&M sophomore QB Allen to transfer
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen is transferring from the school immediately.

The Aggies granted his release on Thursday. The school didn't say where Allen would be going.

The sophomore appeared in 10 games for the Aggies this season and threw for 2,210 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Allen won the starting job out of camp but was benched in favor of freshman Kyler Murray after throwing three interceptions, all of which were returned for touchdowns, in a loss to Alabama in October.

Allen received only sporadic playing time after he was benched. He played in 10 games as a freshman last season after Kenny Hill was benched after his struggles.

DAMN!!! A&M wasted no time updating their roster!! Kyle Allen's name has been removed!!!!

Right now, A&M doesn't have a QB commit for this 2016 class. I would imagine that they will be hard pressed to find a kid willing to go their way. Kenny Hill to open 2014, Kyle Allen at the midpoint, Allen to open 2015, Kyler Murray at the midpoint.

I just remember when Aggie joined, that game was going to be the "prime time" game everyone was going to watch and we were going to have this new rivalry with them. All that shit they talked in the offseason in 13, dissolved into complete bull shit. Fuck them.

Hmm, he might be heading to Oklahoma.

If Texas A&M could get out of their own way, they could be a very tough "system" to competed against. Tons of money, recruiting hot bed, updated facilities, in the right conference... Look how quick they funded $500M to update the stadium.

Sumlin's days are limited in my opinion, 2016 is probably his final year. Texas A&M went from middle/bottom of the Big XII to same spot in the SEC. They have all the potential in the world...just need the right coach to channel it.

This article touches on the subject a bit, TAMU doesn't have a QB problem. I've mentioned this previously, when fRan was at TAMU he didn't recruit offensive linemen very well. Sherman immediately addressed that, all those guys drafted the last few years in the NFL...all Mike Sherman. Sumlin had absolutely nothing to do with this. Johnny Manziel had his knack for extending the plays along with the offensive line that Sherman built, which is how Texas A&M entered the SEC the way they did.

I am a long ways from Texas and this is pure speculation on my part but I think aTm's issue is a lot like Texas. Too much money with all the donors knowing how to run the program better than the people they hired to do it. Think back to all the coaches they had. Bryant won at aTm, and left when momma called, but since then. They have fired Gene Stallings, Jackie Sherrill (who gave them the 12th man), then they hired away a winning coach in Franchione and he quickly became a mediocre coach.

Bryant always said if Florida got the right coach they would be hell to contend with and he was right. I think the same could be said for aTm.
