They just paid Byrum Brown 4.4 million along with getting 12 other players from UCF. Sound familiar? Cignetti + JMU in year 1. I'm not saying they'll pull an Indiana, but they seem to be following the same playbook. Next year will show signs if it's successful for them or not.

Hiring a HC that is in demand is a death wish for the AD. That coach is going to demand and set the terms of the buyout and not the AD. You would think a 5-year deal at 11 million per year and a 3-year buyout of 30 million would be enough. Trying to get both sides with skin in the game is impossible on the so-called top candidates.

Does Kalen's contract have the clause to where when he gets another gig then those dollars subtract from what is owed? That has to happen as well as paying the owed amount in payments until complete. If those terms can't be met, then you might want to reconsider your candidate.

Never, ever thought to myself whenever I've been to Lubbock like, geez this is a nice place, thinking about moving here, but again, no one has ever offered me 4.4 million a year to do it. I don't see how we trust these numbers. Who knows how much TTU spent before July 1st of last year? Technically, since there wasn't any accounting in place there are no records to how much schools spent from January through June.

I'm not doubting they are listing the schools who spent more than average last season.
