🏈 2026 Alabama Roster Management Chart and Portal news

Ty Haywood is in town for a visit today. Predicted to the tide by people. Kinda figured he'd be this way. He did already say he'd like to look at 1-2 more schools before he commits fully but most are expecting Bama is the spot. We shall see if he follows up at other options or not.

Or else we get left behind while other teams pass us by…no telling how long it will be before we win another championship…we don’t have the money to compete with Tx, A&M, Indiana, osu, Tx tech…we have to give them another reason to come here…gettin blown out like we did again both Georgia and Indiana won’t cut it…stud players wanna get paid or wanna look good…we can’t not pay and look like shit…we need more money or exceptional coaches

Too dramatic aren't we tonight?

Absolutely they are “goobers”. The kid is enrolled in school already and hasn’t signed a deal? Total fail. It’s a bad look for Bama.
Where are you seeing "enrolled in school" already? He's still considering four schools to start. I've yet to see anyone with a shred of credibility report such. I may have missed that news. It's possible though not probable.

The nail was hit on the proverbial head earlier in the thread with the suggestion akin to "let's let 'em get the hay in the barn and then take a gander." When it comes to Smothers, is he still committed to UA?

A simple logic test. If Smothers was enrolled in school wouldn't that also mean he would have had to sign his Grant in Aid paperwork? @Brandon Van de Graaff If I'm right here the time line is actually that, reversed. They sign the GIA and then enroll.

"We don't have the money" is still being looked at from the wrong perspectives. Bama has been "outbid" where other schools were willing to pay more up front but not necessarily for the entire "deal." They've been outbid on the totals as well. Otherwise, they are right there with other schools in a competitive market.

How each is program structuring their revenue sharing and NIL deals? In my opinion, that's the view that everyone needs to adopt. (And, the way revenue sharing is structured this season will be different next season. They changed the rules again recently.)

What you may not like, but it is a possibility, is seeing a Bama team that's equal in terms of monies spent but they are only paying 65 players where other schools are paying 85. I DO NOT expect to see Alabama carry 105

What’s up with GA Tech landing all these players?

I'm assuming it's cheap talent.
Up until week 11, or week 12, they were right in the thick of the ACC race. The program was sniffing around a playoff invitation last season. And, let's be real, GT has some money. They been creative in bringing in more with moves like selling home games to the Dome.

On another note, from my seat GT and UVA did a lot to make the ACC interesting this season. They were the story until we reached November and Miami came back on the scene.
