Rumors floating that if Smothers does go to Texas that Bama would end up with Raleek Brown instead, Smothers posted his Bama commitment picture again...gonna just let the dust settle on this.

I will say, if I'm the staff, I use this as a lesson. Nothing matters until the name is signed on the line, don't settle for a "commitment" push for a signing now.

Who is on campus during this crazy decommit/visit news? Cam Coleman who Texas wants and they're probably the most likely candidate besides Bama so they pull this stunt because Bama didn't get him to sign. I gotta give them some props here. Even if we save Smothers now, we look worse to Coleman and may lose him

Think about what you are saying here.

Would you rather have a situation like that which happened with Ross at LSU where you had the staff telling a kid, "take or leave it." The guy who takes it? That isn't going to be the one you rely on in November.

This kid is making a decision that impacts his life from now until the day he dies. He chooses not to sign because he hasn't made up his mind. But, the staff are "total goobers" because they didn't pressure him into doing something he wasn't sure about?

He's not signed already because he doesn't want to sign yet.

You made a similar comment about the offensive line the other day. Tell me who is a part of the offensive line when spring camp starts.

Is the humidity really high as of late in your area? I ask because the slick mullet looks like a bad perm on a humid day; frizzled.

We have a decent grasp on a lot in coaching searches and hires based on what we know about guys like Jimmy Sexton. Experience has taught us a few of the ins and out's of their game.

Fortunately, some of these players have the same agents. It doesn't keep them from getting their ass in a sling. Williams at UW has the same agent as CJF and look what he and his advisor tried to pull with LSU.

I say that to say this.

We don't know a lot of the advisors and agents who are running the game now. For all we know, the rumors Tim speaks of that need to be quelled could be coming from Smothers agent; or some advisor in the background.

You just never can tell where the strings are or who is pulling them.
