Being projected as 3rd QB may help him some long term. Hopefully he can avoid the raiders and get to a decent team. Wish he was staying but hope he has a productive future ahead of him.
ok. I will personally always be a fan
He gave a lot with really poor ( imo) coaching.
I hope nfl toughing him up some
And getting drafted later is better to be able to go to better team Get better players around him. And give chance to learn the nfl game
Bama is getting quality pieces this cycle so far I’m happy with it so far. Need Riker for C and looks like Strayhorn is playing RG next to Carroll. If we
Can get Riker and Prak we’d be looking solid

Yep, this was probably his best decision considering the injury issues. If he came back (or transferred) and got hurt again, especially if he had more back issues, his stock would take a hit in a year when the QB class would be stronger. Mendonza and Moore will almost certainly go 1 and 2 in whatever order, but both will be gone within the first few picks. And there is still the slight chance that Moore will return to the Ducks... his agent/advisors are letting him make the final call, but they've recommended that he go into the draft. If Simpson doesn't have any major medical red flags, he's in a good spot to be next in line, and some QB hungry team will probably take him sooner than expected. He'll get a Sr. Bowl invite now, but I'm not sure he will participate in practices since he's been banged up, but maybe.
I hadn't talked to anyone re: Simpson yet this week, I wasn't expecting a decision this quick... but I know based on previous conversations, this was a tough call for him and his team. Just a few weeks ago he was leaning very heavily to staying to the point that it was pretty much the plan at the time.
Ty is a super high character kid that loved Alabama. I wish him the best at the next level. I really think this was the best decision for him and the university, similar to the Milroe decision last year. There will be a heck of a QB battle between Mack and Keelon.
While, personally, I wish Ty would stay and get a full healthy season of starts under him. You can’t beat the reasoning for leaving now. Weak QB class and the possibility of another injury at the college game could be a dream crusher.
