🏈 2025 NFL Draft Thread

Neon Deion was the reason... He even brought his son to the Heisman Trophy ceremony to steal some of Travis Hunter's thunder...and Damien Harris is on to something..but I think the players is the one putting the pressure on these owners not to draft these types...

You know thinking about this from an employee/employer standpoint. Employers will give a job to a difficult employee IF he is really good at what he does. If you are going to be difficult to manage you dang well better be worth it. Pretty simple to me the owners do not think he is good enought for that kind of hassle. If they did he would already be off the board.

A lot of these new players are demanding "instant seniority" when they leave high school..and they are doing the same when they go into the NFL... so I think a lot of these players do not want to work with these type of people... some of those NFL guys worked there way in from small HBCU programs and directional schools, to become pros... very few if any NFL players want to see it handed to them on a silver platter..imo

Correct. Several players were taken early who came with a lot of red flags baggage to deal with... but their on field potential was worth the trade off. .

I don’t think it was players that wanted to not draft these types, I think the owners had a consorted decision to do this to Sanders. Damian Harris was right

FWIW, there isn't anything "live" right now on the site. They are going to drop an update this quarter and anything I put in will be obsolete. IE: They are changing the editor we're using now...

Here's irony. Do you remember Tapatalk? The new editor is Tiptap. This is going to be easy to use if you know BBcode or Markdown syntax. It's WYSIWYG in its purest form to date. All open source as well...

I'll tell you guys when it's about to drop and explain it if needed. I've been playing with their Beta version for a few weeks now. If you want to geek out for a second ... here's what's coming on the editor. (And there's a lot more.)

Yeah, ye olde WoollyAl was accessible on Tapatalk.

Tiptap, eh?

This site was as well until I turned off the access. I had to have an add-on on the server to allow members to use the app...but that add-on also gave them access to everyone's profile: without asking permission. So, email, IP, you name it...

Here's where it gets interesting. We were on vBulletin at the time. This was around 4.2, 4.3 of their software. I saw the risk. But, there wasn't a way...well, not a user interface friendly method to read the site. It was ... yeah, you know the word that was coming.

Two things happened around that period. I realized that a lot of people were too lazy to learn basic browser functions. (Yeah, some probably didn't understand them: still don't.) And two, Lance and I moved the site to Xenforo. '

To this day people are addicted to apps. I've got that here. You just have to download it if that's your preference.

As to tiptap...

D. It's a bad ass editor if you know markdown and BBcode...never have to take you hands off the keyboard. (Markdown is the language you want to learn. It's easy.
Code:
>
gives you a quote box. ) If you have the time, read through the thread Chris has there that I've linked...I know, it's me "geeking out." I don't have the email on the day it's dropping...but I can tell you this. I think it'll take me about 30 minutes to configure it. It took HOURS on the one we are using now.

The flash message improvements (PM notifications, quote notifications, etc.) are really revamped...it's a good one too.

Featured threads are changing...uploads are changing...the app is changing.

There are going to be a hell of a lot of "Easter Eggs" I'm going to drop...but, I'm not going to point to them.
