| MBB/WBB đźŹ€ 2024-25 Pre-season - Tide opens the season Monday night

We had a similar thread last year, and like it, I will update this one with the movement as it happens and next season's roster takes shape. Obviously, all the players in red that are set to return, won't. And others will be added via the portal. But I'll keep this updated and keep track of it as it all unfolds. As always, let me know of any errors/mistakes.

Also, keep in mind, there are 13 scholarship spots available per season. As of now, Alabama is +2 (15 scholarshipped players), which means at a minimum, 2 of the following will not return.

I know I'm not one of the inner circle guys, and I don't want to be out of line, but would someone get the word out to the Bama Staff that Bama's colors are Crimson and White.

Roll Tide!

Look at all those big basketball name schools. We ever think we'd see our backups at these programs?
We've had some in the past. Braxton Key for example left because he didn't feel he was getting the proper development from Avery. Devonta Pollard went to Houston and did very well for himself. Trevor Lacey had a decent career at NC State.

Unfortunately half of the volume is just due to the nature of today's college game. But the other half is largely due to how well Oats recruits and the depth he's created. Previously, players transferred was kind of an indictment on the coaching they received.

Yeah, but that's a lot at one time. Just shows depth.

The only thing frustrating is the D has been out of position a lot, leading to fouls. That's really been the only thing keeping Wake Forest in the game in the 2nd half. Every possession has been at the FT line for them.

Watched the last 10 minutes or so. Looks like some really great shooters. Philon and Holloway seemed to be on fire. Need to go back and watch the rest of the game. 21 point win against an ACC school. Hitting something like 20 3's at a 40+% pace will win a lot of games.

A lot of the shots were uncontested, good job by Spears and Holloway creating with the legs to get open looks for themselves or others. A few poor defensive performances this game that will get cleaned up with time and honestly a few mistimed/judged passes from Holloway throughout the game that are just signs of youth. He's got the touch and shot, just needs to slow some things down and work methodically sometimes.

I don't really have much to grade everyone on but without 2 probable starters (Youngblood and Nelson) and with Oats swapping things up and changing things to make it more difficult on the team like fielding groups without a big man and leaving Holloway to run the offense solo we still hung almost 100 on a team that many believe deserves to be in the top 25 and is 3rd behind Duke and UNC for the ACC right now. I like the brief glimpse we got here.

Freshman looked good, not just out there soaking up clock, but good. Actually able to contribute, I think Cunningham might be a bit behind but Sherril, Reid, and Philon look to be part of the rotation going forward.

I just got home from a concert and didn't get a chance to watch... I saw about 1 minute of action late in the 1st on my phone but that was it. I'll watch it at some point on Sunday or Monday. But the thing that stood out from the team stats... 24 assists. That includes 6 (with 0 turnovers) from Holloway. That dog will hunt.

Also, Dwight Yoakam gave everyone a Roll Tide.
