That five game stretch from Vandy to Tennessee is the meat of the schedule—tough stretch before a break.

What's cool is there are no back to back road games next season. But, there are two back to back weekends in Tuscaloosa.

The FSU opener really looks like a huge game today, doesn't it? It could be a playoff rematch ... hell, even a national championship rematch. It would be a wild season opener to see a #1 vs #2 match-up.

FCS. There are three things I think I've been pretty consistent at complaining about over the years (I've given up on the NCAA and my Verne problem is gone this year...ok make that 5).

1. ESPN absolutely hate them.
2. 9 Game Conf schedule
3. No FCS opponents

I agree 100% with number 3. If you are a power 5 school, play power 5 schools. MERCER! Why?????

Go look at all of the Power 5 schedules and you will find out why. Almost all of them will be playing conference games that weekend. Of the few that aren't, please name one that would come to Bama on that weekend. I say one rather than several because you can't name one, much less several.

Hell, go look at all the FBS schools and name one. Last year almost 100 of them were playing conference games. 94 IIRC. That leaves 19 of the 113 (127 minus 14 SEC). Two (BC-ND) of those were playing conference mandated. That leaves 17 of the 113. Etc, etc, etc.

If all P5's had to play P5's....Vandy, Kentucky, Missouri, Purdue, Illinois, Duke, and many others would be in high demand.

I not sold on P5 playing P5 only at this point, but P5 shouldn't be playing FCS. FBS has plenty of cupcakes to fill the spot. Too many bowl games, need to fix that too. Add that to my list

Look at ut's. Don't know whether to LOL or cry at ut's schedule leading up to Bama game. Looking at the first eight weeks in two week segments.

They open with GT and then play Indiana State. :eyeroll:

Meanwhile, ut is the FIFTH consecutive SEC game in FIVE consecutive weeks on Bama's schedule. WTF!? :bandhead:

And 2021. Mercer to Play at Alabama in 2017 and 2021

My Grandson John michael booth highlight film, who is a huge Bama fan, and has camped at Bama twice, may wind up playing at Mercer, and against Bama in 2021. His Dad (not paternal [JMB was adopted] and my Daughter's ex) is an alumnus of Mercer.

BTW, the highlight film doesn't include his first game this season. Fifty yards rushing (long of 32) and 102 yards receiving (long of 72 yard TD). In less than ONE HALF! Lightning delay with 3-4 minutes left in the first half and game was never resumed.
