Since we have time before the BCS NCG, I'd like to pose a question(s).
Who was thelast current or former Crimson Tide Football player that you met/saw? Where were they and what were they doing?

Andrew Zow
November 4th at a Alabama/Auburn store just north of Birmingham
He was doing a signing (no charge). He said that he was now living in the Birmingham area. Really nice guy. (He was bigger in person than I would have expected...and not big around that belly big, just a big fella big).

For me it was Kenny Stabler. Met him at Baumhower's in Montgomery. We sat at the bar and drank a couple beers and talked about football.

Regarding being in a "shooting house" with Tommy Wilcox, it strikes me that there may be may members here that may not know that a Shooting House is related to hunting...vice other possible conclusions that could be reached.

Regarding TR at Walmart on Black Friday, I don't suppose he was rushing a ball OUT the enterance as their doors opened...TR seeking a challenge in getting ready for the BCS game. (He wasn't tackled, was he?)

Regarding seeing Stabler at a bar, that's like claiming to see have seen Santa at the mall.

Regarding DJ at the Zoo; were people throwing peanuts at him?

Regarding Ro's Brother at the airport; its more than a pass, its a passport. Good get Flake.

My grandmother was in the hospital a couple years ago. I came down from Nashville to be with her, and when I was leaving I was on the elevator with none other than Josh Chapman. This was during the Mt. Cody era still, so he wasn't a household name at the time for the casual Alabama fan. BUT, I follow recruiting a good bit and recognized him pretty quick.

Super nice guy, very down to earth, and a super nice family as well!

Tuesday night my family and I were eating at Tortuga's in Birmingham. It is a Chicago style pizzeria (that is phenomenal). Anywho, there is Chicago crap galore in this place. Cubs and Bears memorabilia on the walls. Amongst all of the Bear/Cubs stuff is a lone Packer jersey on the wall, signed by Bart Starr. My 8 year old asked why a Packers jersey was in there. I explained that Bart Starr was from Birmingham and went to Alabama, played for Green Bay (Who is Chicago's big rivalry in the NFL) As I'm telling him about Super Bowl I and II, as well as the Ice Bowl and how Bart Starr was recruited to play for Bear at Kentucky, but he chose to stay at Alabama and be close to his girlfriend at the time. Low and behold Bart and Cherry Starr walk in and sit in the booth under his jersey. It was pretty cool to talk about to my little boy about him and then have the very man himself come in and sit down 2 booths down from you.

Cool story - the odds of that happening are unbelievable.

I ran into John Parker Wilson and Mike Johnson here in ATL. I had met them before, but my kids had not. They were thrilled. Both are super nice guys.

Ran into Eric Curry at the SECCG couple of yrs. ago. He actually came up to ME. I know, you don't believe it! He asked me where he knew me from and it went from there. Then, I had him on a flight not even 6 months later. Too cool. Baron Huber at the Iron Bowl last year. I made sure he showed my kids his championship ring. It was during halftime, and he acted like he would have talked with us all game. He was too nice.

I helped out with a signing in Huntsville a few weeks ago that hosted Eryk Anders, Glen Coffee and Roy Upchurch. Had an interesting exchange with Roy:

"I still hate you."
"Why?!"
"I'm an Auburn fan. Why couldn't you just drop that damn pass?!"
"Ha ha, sorry bruh. I hear that all the time from you people."
"What the hell do you mean you people?"

Blank stare (I'm white). It was pretty damn funny. He's a nice guy.

Last actual great was Snake. We hosted him at DIRECTV for an NFL event. By far the coolest athlete I've ever met.

AJ mccarron senior bowl weekend the beginning of this year. he is around all the time, though, and has been out plenty of places over his christmas break, but that's the only time i've met him.

(i live in mobile also)

There are few things on this earth cooler than a Tortugas deep dish, but one of them is Bart Starr.
