Not trying to start a movement here. Just legging-out a thought.

Doemaster's photos from the A-Day game give some glimpse into what that stadium will look like when finished. My impressions were that, from field level, that it had walls that went up and kept going up. It looks "Deep".

This struck me and a neat nick name for the statium "the Deep", which rolls with the Crimson Tide theme, or could be a play on words in saying that the vistors are "in Deep now" or now find themselves "in Deep [stuff]". Its worth a chuckle.

So over to you guys. If there were a marketing push that could not be stopped to give BDS a nick name, what name would you offer?

The Abyss.
1 : the bottomless gulf, pit, or chaos of the old cosmogonies
2 a : an immeasurably deep gulf or great space b : intellectual or moral depths

It doesn't have the catchy ring to it like Abyss or Deep, but "the Well" sure would easily lend itself to so each catch phases.
-The "Well" of Alabama talent/success/championships/legends.... Yeah. That shading a bit too much toward lame.

But Abyss is good, and it does have that letter "A" that someone will use to write it like -- " :a:byss"

Bryant-Denny is world renowned.

I remember reading somewhere recently that a young man, about 18, came as a recruit to a game and heard the recording of Bear's speech before a game.

He said it inspired him, even though he didn't have a lot of knowledge about Coach Bryant.

Coach Bryant had what is called charisma. Even in our modern times, his charisma in still in his voice. The voice of Coach Bryant is what inspired this recruit and he said he loved hearing it.

A few days later he committed to 'Bama.

I've thought about this several years back; lot's of folks say (and I'm not arguing) that we treat Alabama Football like a religion so I say "The Cathedral" or something more simple like "The Chapel"

The PROCESSing Plant

With respect to "BDS", Coach Bryant's name would never be taken away. Keep in mind that the State Legislature was invilved in making that change from Denny Stadium to Bryant Denny Stadium. It would still be BDS, jst the same way that the Swamp is Ben-Hill Griffith or Death Valley is Tiger Stadium or a Single Complete Set of Teeth is Jordan-Hare.

Oh, and Cathedral is heading down a brilliant path. The Shrine of Inevitable Pain
