🏈 What to call BDS

What is the difference between "gimmicky" and "being progressive"?

~ Blue Turf? I suppose that depends upon whether you are a Boise guy or not.

~ Penn State's White Out? I don't see them getting rid of that any time soon. Georgia's Black Out?

~ Martial Arts training for football players? We've done it, and it worked against the Ninjas at UGA.:rofl:

~ the Wish Bone? Well, it is the 70's or the 90's?

~ nick names? Paul "Bear" Bryant, Ron "He Hate Me" Smith, Terrance "Mount" Cody, Jordan-Hare Stadium (a.k.a. the Jungle) (a.k.a. Ok its Jordan-Hare and we would like to forget the whole Jungle episode thing ever happened) (a.k.a. alright, this time we mean it when we say its Jordan-Hare Dye stadium/field)(a.k.a. DOH!! What we meant to say is that the stadium is Jordan-Hare and the field is Dye field, and yes the pressbox has a completely different name, and no we don't have names for the restrooms there other than "the last place on campus one is likley to find toilet tissue")

Welcome to Bryant-Denny Stadium home of Stallings-Saban Field.
The house that Bear built.

We call it " The Deep Nothing" cause visiting teams came with nothing and they leave with nothing.
So please close the door to the Fail Room on your way out.
Roll Tide! lol

a gimmick is a quirky feature that distinguishes a product or service without adding any obvious function or value.

I really wouldnt call a nickname for a stadium progressive. And nicknames for players arent really gimmicks. I have a few different nicknames from all phases of life. They were often given to me by buddies. I didnt have a service or product to "sell".

The option, wishbone, and run-n-gun could all be considered "gimmicks" by some. I just look at them as different offensive schemes.

To each his own though.
