I"m not sure yet. Yhings don't look good for them, but so far it's all a he said/she said thing. There's not really any tangible evidence.

It's hard to say at this point. There seems to be an awful lot of smoke for there to be no fire. Hard to belive that Auburn would play him if there was any question in thier minds about his recruitment.

I am starting to lean towards Auburn got caught with their hands in a big cookie jar! Rev.Newton couldn't afford to fix his church for quite a while and then comes up with the money to repair the church...No one is asking this, How much did it cost to fix church? Can someone try to find out what repairs were made and how much was spent for the church in order to not be torn down?!

If you are not sure at this point, then I will just go ahead and say that you will never be sure. Look at the evidence we have now. FIVE different people are now claiming to have heard first hand from either Cam or his father, that money would be required to secure his commitment. How much more proof do you need than that? If there was a murder trial and they had five witnesses who claimed the defendant confessed the crime to them, don’t you think the jury would return a guilty plea?

Do you think these five people would all conspire together on these allocations? For what reason? MSU still won’t have Cam regardless of the outcome.

Or do you believe Cecil would demand thousands of dollars from his sons #1 college choice while not asking for a penny from a school he really isn’t all that interested in attending? Does that make sense? To me it’s a slam dunk at this point. The evidence against Auburn is overwhelming.

If I may. Given that Auburn has not been credibly accused of anything yet I have a hard time believing the administration did anything wrong. Unfortunately the Albert Means situation taught us that a University can still get in trouble due to the conduct of their "boosters."

In that regard I would tend to agree with BigAL that the worst thing that could happen to Auburn would be some jackass acting on his own to pay for Cam.

Cam's dad concerns me. A father being that involved in his 22 year old sons life is weird. I fear he might be dirty here. I still don't have a feel as to how much Cam knows. I am also having a hard time remembering an incident like this where so much information was wrong. Almost all of the breaking reports have had major aspects of them refuted.

Right now this looks worse for MSU than Auburn but that could change quickly.

As for the Iron Bowl if we win it on the field I'm happy. I don't care what happens after that. The NCAA had plenty of time to act on this and they didn't.

The only thing Bama was guilty of in the Means case was having a HC dumb enough to get within 231 miles of him. Mapquest tells me there are 231 miles between Memphis and Tuscaloosa.

Here is a aspect that I haven't heard discussed yet. One of the problems that I heard many inside of auburns athletic department had with Tubberville was the fact that he did not allow outside meddling in his program. This was especially true concerning Pat Dye. Several times when I listen to him on Finebaum he (Pat Dye) made quite guarded references to this being the case and his dissatisfaction with that fact. When Chizick was hired, from what I understand, it was understood that would change. That Dye would be permitted full access to the team. If that is the case, isn't it funny that now these allegations are flying around again? Perhaps the biggest problem Wingnut had was that he just didn't run a dirty enough program.

I'm not sure yet, but damn if this isn't looking bad for the barn. This thing has gotten out of control and lots of Auburn fans are still denying and ignoring the fact that there's a possibility there's some wrong doing.

It's a little sad really. I got hammered for mentioning a new ESPN story on an auburn board. Because it was ESPN everyone there assumed it was BS and I was a fool for even considering any truth it contained.

I still doubt Auburn was involved in paying for Cam. I question how complicit Cam was or if he even knew at all. Even if he was I honestly don't care if he took money. The NCAA regulations are outdated, unfair to the players, and naive. I only wish he, and every other athlete that takes money from the system, hadn't gotten caught. Not that the NCAA will ever right that wrong or even acknowledge it as credible.

At this point wagons have been circled and everyone smells a rat. Welcome to SEC football. And because its the SEC there is little empathy and lots of belligerence from other fans. That exascerbates the problem.

It also doesn't help that allegations reported as fact by the media contain glaring errors. It also looks bad for the SEC if they in fact "cleared" him in July. The timing also makes MSU look bad.

If we win Saturday at least we'll play for the conference championship.

I wonder what would have happened had Tubberville and company offered Newton instead of Burns.

You need to change your avatar, you're just confusing folks at this point. eheh

Maybe, maybe not . . . that remains to be seen. Wouldn't surprise me a bit should AU win the SEC Championship that y'all will only be able to claim it for 3 or 4 years before vacating it. So go ahead and raise the roof on the barn while you can . . .
