He is adding play makers that can handle the ball and shoot well from 3. His system.... Hope they can also play elite D. To win it all need lots of options offensively, elite D and depth. Seems like he is building that.

He's also adding experience, which I don't think is mere coincidence... especially after what he saw firsthand from teams like SDSU...

Unfortunately, I think this is where we'll see the biggest drop next season.

Interesting you say that? I don't think there will be a huge drop off. Oats still preach defense.

He absolutely does, but outside of Pringle and Bediako at 5, there aren't really any experienced glue guys who can be good on ball defenders and can close out. At least we don't know yet. Plus losing Charlie Henry, who was a very good defensive coach.

I'll reserve judgment though. Griffin will probably make huge strides. Walton has good size. I do think we're going to miss Nimari more than we expect. But I also think we'll be smoother on offense with more experienced wings who can create their own shot.

We still need a dependable guy in the 6'7"-6'9" range IMO.
I also still think Clowney is making a big mistake if he is not taken in the 1st round, time will tell.
JQ, MS and CB all should return IMO.

Apparently we're going after USC transfer Tre White who took his first visit to Louisville this weekend. No information on whether he will visit us but we are actively pursuing him right now.

We canceled our visit with Kante. I'd like to think we're going after another big. Sherrel won't reclassify due to academics, but we are definitely in the lead for him for the '24 class.

Would have likely been better for him too. He needs work on the offensive end. This isn’t/wasn’t a Clowney situation… he was expected back.

Kinda what I figured, we'll be taking a step back this year likely either way without Brandon Miller but with all the other pieces leaving as well we're likely looking at a bit of a rebuilding year.
