🏈 Update - DJ Durkins contract bought out, Matt Canada interim HC

So, it was simple heat stroke? If that's the case, I have no clue how this resulted in his death. In 2018, does not every single college in the country have an ice bath there waiting for after practice? Simply putting him in that would have brought his temperature down and saved his life. That seems kinda unreal to me.

That's one of the crazy things about this story, Josh. I was watching SC when the story was being covered and they mentioned not having ice baths at practice. Literally, a few minutes later, the ESPN special this fall about training with the Tide came on and it featured the clips of the players, along with Jeff Allen, jumping in the ice baths.

I'm not a fan of this whole mob mentality and how this was handled. I don't engage in this nonsense on Twitter, but I've expressed my feelings here about a few of similar issues. I suppose I've been part of the mob at times and it's not something I want to be apart of.

Uninformed people demanding change is not a good look.

The thing that was most disturbing to me was the player's aversion to the now newly departed HC. That should have settled it, right then and there. The mishandling was yesterday in thinking this guy could ever be the HC at Maryland again and it reflected the same tone deafness that other universities seem to be inflicted with these days when it comes to moral awareness. It took less than 12 hours for these giants of political correctness to see the error of their way. The fact these folks had to rethink it in the first place was just plain sad.

I'm not a fan of it either and it just makes you look 1000 times worse that you rehired him and then fired him in a matter of days. To me, the biggest blunder is they listened to their board of trustees but didn't bother to talk to the players at all.

Their blunder was allowing the adults in the room make the decision versus the kids? There's certainly fault to be found with the decision makers. But, to ask the kids what the decision should be?

Just today's society on parade.......

Maryland record since 2000

2017 4-8 2016 6-7 2015 3-9 2014 7-6 2013 7-6 2012 7-6 2011 4-8 2010 2-10 2009 9-4 2008 2-10 2007 8-5 2006 6-7 2005 9-4
2004 5-6 2003 5-6 2002 11-3 2001 10-3 2000 5-6

Note it only got worse 1999 thru 1986.....The Terps are a shitty program but they do have about 20 different uniforms.

That's not what I said, at all.
You're statement was they should have listened to the players versus the BOT..."didn't bother to talk to the players."

I don't see any reason for this decision by Maryland to be something based on what the players think, or what the students think.
