I would bet that Nick Saban had more to do with the 2nd half play of the defense than Golding.

Was it Golding who adjusted? Golding may have had his chance to shine to begin the game and when Kansas was doing what they wanted to do, did someone else start calling the defense? No one can change their spots that quickly, IMHO. Could this game been his final chance to determine if he stays or goes?

I’d say if you think the 2nd half defense was all Saban then you’re just looking to complain about Golding and not thinking logically because it makes no sense that he would step in now, but not during the year

Last play of first quarter, when they went to commercial, I thought I could see Golding telling Saban they were changing. The start of the second quarter is when our pass coverage tightened up.

I will say that teams who regularly go for it on fourth down are frustrating for me as a fan to watch, defense wise.
