| FTBL Transfer Portal Entrants And News—

Wait what? No. They were encouraged to enter portal.
Encouraged to enter the portal before the bowl game? To what end? To have more space available for the December signing date? The logic in that escapes me as I thought Bama already had room for 30+ before the wave of transfers? Has Saban given up on player development? Is he admitting they made a mistake recruiting all of these players? Were the receivers also encouraged to enter the transfer portal before the bowl game? Where did you read about this? Please share the link.

Let's see if we can break it down....

Look at how many OLs/WRs entered in transfer portal.

Look at our 2023 Recruiting classes:

It's an almost swap for both positions.

No, it's not done to meet December signing deadline. as long Alabama has roster of 85 in August, that's all it matters.

No it's not about whether Saban and coaching staff made mistakes in recruiting, sometime a player can't cut it...

Sometime kids want playing time.. sometime they wanted a change of scenery... sometime they wanted to go home, etc. Reasons are always different for each person.

Let's take a look at each players that's in portal for Alabama.
Cohen- Multi year starter, but Booker was pushing him for the starting job, and was often outperformed by Booker several times.

Jackson- Got suspended toward end of the season and won't do right thing.

Earle- Often injured and got passed up by Freshmen WRs.

Leary- Got passed up by Freshmen WRs

Aaron Anderson- Staff wanted him to stay. Was known not always want to do right thing on the field.

Holden- Was gonna be passed up by Freshmen WRs...

Bowles- Never was gonna be a starter or see playing time.
George- Got passed up by younger players.

Kight- never could beat folks out for starting job. Competition

Brockermeyer- Couldn't gain weight. Can't build strength.

Trey Sanders- Got passed up... He gave his all for Alabama. he deserves to go somewhere and start. He will be fine.

Jack martin- Never should've came to Alabama....

Braylen Ingraham- Never was gonna see playing time.

now, to Address the other point, Bama can sign between 25 to 30... They can sign as much they want to, as long they get below 85 by August of next year.

Those are reasons why the players wanted to transfer. You stated they were encouraged to transfer. I asked you why? Saban talks all the time about the importance of having experienced backups and how the portal negatively impacts having them. He also has stated many times how it takes O-linemen longer to be game ready than other positions. So, I can’t see why he or his staff would encourage so many of their scholarship O-linemen to transfer? And I asked if they did in fact encourage them to do so why do it before the bowl game?
