📝 Top JUCO LB Gary Johnson decommits from #Bama

I don't hate it for him because he should have taken care of business. May be a nice guy, but ultimately the guys that can't make grades are the guys not trying hard enough. I mean, hell, they essentially give you grades at JUCO, and if some of these 80 and 90 year old people come back to college and graduate, and even Joe Namath, an 18-21 year old can do what it takes to be eligible.

Now, I wish the guy all the best moving forward and just hope he can right the ship on way or another. Any ball player after the ride is over will tell you how much they wish they had their education. Cameran Newton and Calvin Johnson both went back to school, as did Larry Fitzgerald.

I would like to see what school take him? If he thinking that the SEC schools are going to be hard, what does this say about the other Power 5 schools? I do hope him the best more matter what his does!

Rare for Saban to jump out on a JUCO LB... He must have been pretty damn good.
From what I understand he was smaller than Saban realized when he was in Tuscaloosa. I want to say it was 5'11" ... maybe, as compared to listed heights of 6' 1" . That size makes me think safety instead of linebacker when changes the JUCO bit/need.

**Of note, IMO.

A few years ago there was a signee that couldn't for play in the SEC and ended up at Louisville ... I think it was Louisville, at least. I know we've seen several over the last few years that were unable to qualify for SEC play, YET could play in the ACC.

It's being reported Johnson was offered by Miami this past weekend.

Would have agreed with you until SDH broke the midget MLB mold... He's like 5'6 lol.

Currently sitting with 84 on Scholarship list (including all of the early transfers and the 4 WO grants and then the BB8 late transfer)
Seniors grad/leaving program 16 => 68
Juniors most likely going NFL early 3 => 65
Transfers - (Cronwell?) 1 => 64
leaving room for 21 in class of 2017
keep seeing rumors of more than 25 in the class of 2017??
have to wonder about transfers from those who have not lived up to our/their expectations.

But just have to wonder about this guy's grades to realize he could not make it in the SEC...
Best of luck to him and the school that will take him.

All the above with a grain of salt; trust in the process as all will be revealed on Nick Saban Day and then when the team takes the field in preparation for Free Shoes U.

Just realized his name ..
