How on Earth do you and a school councelor allow this to happen? How do you take any class not allowed by the school you're attending, the conference you're playing in, or the NCAA? I understand they duck and move to get kids eligible and to take easy classes, but how on Earth do you take that suspect of a class this close to your entollment at Alabama? i had a damn checklist for undergrad and graduate school. I followed it, and guess what, graduated when it said, so how could his councelor be that bad? unfortunately some kids aren't capable of putting it all together with all the NCAA BS, and I feel those responsible at theie schools should be dealt with as well.

It's different per conference as well. It doesn't surprise me they missed something like this considering the number of students they deal with as compared to the number of student athletes going to SEC schools.

But isn't that what they are paid to do? Get these kids in class, keep them eligible with grades, and get them off to a better opportunity? Some responsibility on the kid to, because if they are truly dedicated and chasing a dream, I know I'd make sure my happy ass was doing everything needed and asking questions. Last Chance U shows a great example of what I and a lot of others think it's most like out there, guys just moving around like zombies during the day with class and life only to turn it on come practice and game time.

It was mentioned in the piece that Johnson could retake the course and be admitted in the summer. So, maybe this commitment has more to do with Johnson having to be available for spring ball or not at all.

A learning disability is always a possibility and that often says more about hardwiring rather than IQ. But short of that this is JUCO folks. No excuse for not taking the course where he was enrolled.

Minimum-threshold grades, JUCO watered-downed classes with assistance coming out your ears. And you're only there to accomplish something you didn't get done on the high school level. And that ain't playing football. And guess what, you didn't get it done the second time around either.

One plausible explanation would be that he didn't flunk math, he took a class that the SEC wouldn't take. That's the SEC. Miami, FSU, Ohio State, West Virginia are talking with the kid, so apparently, their university will accept the class.

Somebody screwed up royally, and Gary Johnson is still the master of his domain. Bet that doesn't change regardless of who royally screwed this up.

A few years ago there was a signee that couldn't for play in the SEC and ended up at Louisville ... I think it was Louisville, at least. I know we've seen several over the last few years that were unable to qualify for SEC play, YET could play in the ACC.

It's being reported Johnson was offered by Miami this past weekend.

26 - M-Hump (have seen several 1st round projections);
15 - JK Scott (more likely not to go, but would wonder how he will grade out?)

I was including a couple of the WO's who scholarshipped this year. Think we gave out 4 (including J. Mosley) and at least 2 of them will graduate

seems Sims is the only one of the 4 above that is really playing? I'm wondering if at least 3 of the 4 may be considering moving on. (worked well for Black to Mizzou)

From what I understand he was smaller than Saban realized when he was in Tuscaloosa. I want to say it was 5'11" ... maybe, as compared to listed heights of 6' 1" . That size makes me think safety instead of linebacker when changes the JUCO bit/need.

Not only was there a qualification issue there were a few boosters throwing money around that year. USC (real one) lost two guys that recruiting class.
