I lived in Dothan for about 10 years.@sk33tr as a retired teacher, I saw firsthand the changes that school systems took when it came to inclement weather, from tornadoes to snow/ice. With tornadoes, it was the devastating tornado in Enterprise that took the lives of students and teachers. Here in Alabama, we hardly ever have a dry snow so, it melts and then freezes over and roads become such a mess. Buses aren’t made to operate in that mess.
