in my opinion....

i suffered a concussion while playing highschool football.. i played SS and loved to put the wood on someone, but after the concussion i was gunshy.. it took me an entire season to get my gonads back.. i suspect tebow to react in a similar fashion.. not a big deal for most qaterbacks, but tebow has built his legacy around his ability to be a short yardage back.. he will not be the same this season... just like tom cruise in "days of thunder"..

oh yea and Alabama vs VT.. rematch in pasedena.. biggest game in the history of the universe..

I'd be shocked if Tebow doesn't play a lot tonight. He might not run it much, but I'd be shocked if he didn't play a lot. Very well said, he did nothing that he said he would do because he doesnt understand the pro offense, just that crap they run which is a gimmick, a good gimmick, but still a gimmick. Meyer is very greedy and Tebow will not truly understand this until later in life. Yes someone will take a chance on him in the NFL but it will not work. He just doesnt have the skills to be a quarterback in the NFL. Hes a good young man and deserves better.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. I dont think Meyer gives a damn about Tebow. I think it's all about what Tebow can do for the team and for Meyer.

Truer words have never been spoken Chop. It is as if Meyer has a man-crush on Tebow and he is obsessed with Tebow. Meyer not Tebow, had it (the concussion) coming when you tell your quaterback to run 24 times in a game up the middle against Kentucky. Can anyone say "punchdrunk", that's what putting your qb in the meatgrinder gets you - someday, because what comes around goes around.

Give Florida credit I guess. They got away with it. I'm just not sure if this says more about Florida or LSU at this point. I'm guessing it exposed LSU more.

Some of LSU ineffectiveness on offense can be attributed to an inexperience qb who apparently takes too much time trying to read the secondary, but then again, some of the onus needs to be placed on LSU's offensive coaching staff. I thought the play calling was terrible at times. There were a couple of opportunities where LSU was in perfect position to take advantage of their receiver's height against one of Florida's short dbs but decided to run a no back set, leaving Jefferson ripe for the Gator's defensive pressure (JJ just simply holds the ball too long--give Florida's secondary some credit for their coverage, though).

I've noticed that Jefferson has better success as a passer when he rolls out, but the LSU coaching staff seems bent on having him drop straight back in the pocket in passing situations.

Again, LSU got itself into trouble early on, so it had nothing to do with late game fatigue. LSU just seemingly had no answer for the Florida inside rushing attack early. Even when it was apparent that Tebow was nothing more than a decoy, LSU could not stop the most basic of running plays. Florida ran up and down the field (without passing, for the most part mind you) on LSU by running a dive play with some motion and misdirection.

I'm not talking tackles that were in open space, I'm talking plays where the Bulldogs were running between the guards, not the tackles, the guards...and saw three and four guys try to "bump" players off their feet instead of tackling them.

Don't get me wrong. I think they'll give us some problems when we play. But, at the same time, I also think we'll break some runs because of missed tackles on the line.

The LSU back seven, IMO, is the strength of that defense. I'm impressed with how their LB'ers are doing this year. They are better now than I expected them to be at this time of the season.

There is no getting around this one point.

There are some questions surrounding that team. Their offensive game plan, for one.

On a different note I was shocked hearing Les say that this was his best, and strongest, offensive line yet. I heard that and immediately thought of the 4th down conversions—1 for 8 on the season.

Terry, you can go back through the archives for the last three or four years and see that I've never been impresssed overall with LSU's defense, especially with their secondary play, and have always harped about how overrated their D is, but their front line is solid, particularly in goal line defense. That was a very good Florida offense that was held to one TD last night. Bama will have its hands full with LSU's DL. I see our passing game being the difference against them, provided our coverage on special teams doesn't breakdown.

As far as Mississippi State game goes, Anthony Dixon is no slouch runner or scat back type, the conditions were extremely wet, and LSU's team had a very difficult time even making it to Starkville to play that game (arrived very late). Not making excuses for them but these variables did come into play.

LSU still has some very good athletes, yet it's evident they are not playing to their potential because of poor coaching and lack of execution. Look at the number of repetitive-type penalites last night. That team also takes an extremely long time to get set up offensively when taking calls from the sideline, and their receivers have been dropping passes all year.

If LSU had a seasoned quarterback who was consistent in the passing game, their offense would be very dangerous; instead, it finds itself floundering and unable to sustain long drives against quality opponents. I'm just grateful that Perriloux was a bust.

LSU's defensive front line will perform against us much like Ole Miss' and Kentucky's did but will wilt from having to stay out on the field so much. I also see Alabama (provided GMac gets the protection) torching the LSU secondary with big plays. Right now I am very concerned with our o-line's pass protection.

We saw that as well - just a bit on the disturbing side.

I also want to echo the sentiment from earlier in the thread and add to it. Meyer puts on a great show with all the "I love him" stuff, regarding Tebow. But, he will ride that kid right into the ground. Why he had Tebow in there for that last series and dropping back to pass is beyond me... almost smacks of desperation to run up the score on an otherwise close-appearing game. Make no mistake, Meyer is no saint despite his camera-friendly TV persona and he appears, at least to some degree, to be blinded by his BCS ambitions when it comes to playing Tebow, play calling, and attempting to run up score. I am proud to say that CNS by and large does not do that.

Now having said all of that, I will also say that Tebow himself is not blameless in my book, either. He was doing alot of "battering ram" stuff himself in the second half - almost like he was trying to prove a point and that he can't be stopped - not even by a severe concussion. Sometimes I think that he and Meyer together really believe their championship destination is divinely pre-ordained and that they are infallible and untouchable. It's a dangerous approach because it makes them both reckless too much.

Oh well, it's their deal, and I don't think they care - they have half of a season to go and you better believe they are not going to back off for Tebow's own sake. Heck no - they are going to ride that horse all the way until they either cross the finish line or break the horse.
