🏈 "That's the fight we have today as coaches. How far can we go to create a tough culture without being reprimanded by soft people?"

Completely hit the nail on the head. We are letting the mediocre, anything goes, do not tell me what to do or you will hurt my fellings groups dictate everything. Time for the grownups to take back over and quit cow telling to those not willing to work hard or be coached hard for what they get. It is not someone elses fault that you are where you are in most cases. Are there exceptions of course but we have made that the norm.

I'll add that our culture does not strive for excellence anymore. And anytime a organization (sports, business, school, relationships, etc) strives for excellence, they blow away the competition or stand out like crazy. People who strive for excellence can take rebuke & in fact, look for discernment & correction.

“Excellence" is not a gift, but a skill that takes practice. We do not act "rightly" because we are "excellent", in fact we achieve "excellence" by acting "rightly".” -Plato
