i have been telling people that cody would make the grade.. he accomplished everything that saban asked of him, and there was no reason for anyone to expect anything different of him now.. mt. cody is 100% heart and will continue to prove everyone wrong.. it was not that long ago that he stepped up and won a game for the tide.. a VERY BIG game.. guys that make plays like that are special..
And I guarantee u those that took their shots (bama fans which is sad) at Cody during Senior Bowl won't even bother to comment or will act like they didn't say anything. I remember comments like "maybe he would've been dominant had he had more discipline on the field and a the dinner table" and "its hard for me to root for someone that doesnt put in the work". I think shedding 24 pounds in a month is proving he 'puts in the work.'
I wonder if those people realized that they call him Mt. Cody because he is a big guy.
They suddenly have a problem with him being big? Its a bunch of people trying to conform him to the norm for lineman and bashing him for the thing that makes him unique in football.
So if you hear a complaint on his weight just say: Shut up, hes Mt Cody. (insert obsenities at your own discretion)
But GJ nonetheless, he probably got himself a first round reservation.

I was very proud of him for dropping the weight to prove he is dedicated to the game and his career. Losing 16 pounds in a month is quite an accomplishment for anyone especially someone as large as he is and for having been larger at one time really not thinking he had really gained alot of weight before the Senior Bowl.
A man his size can lose what seems to be copious amounts of weight in short periods of time. He probably spent the time running and just eating next to nothing, and very little weight lifting or football specific workouts. You can get the weight off, at his weight, pretty easy doing that.
However, people that are a normal weight, of which we have few in Alabama , have a much larger hurdle when trying to lose that kind of weight. 24 pounds was 6.5% of his total body weight (if I recall, he was 370 at Sr. Bowl). For me, at 197, that would be 13 pounds. I might try in the next month to lose my 13 pounds. I can tell you right now, that's going to be a tall order, as my height and build (6'0", athletic build) will make it quite tough indeed.
