🏈 Tennessee- WOW

I never ever thought I would see a day when Tennessee ranked 114th in the country in rushing offense. And their passing offense was decent before losing the starting QB near the end of the UGA game. But Simms just isn't as good.

So LSU has lucked out in sorts because Alabama and UGA took out two starting QBs before LSU got to them (UF & UT). Which in turn has made LSU look better. Just my opinion.

By the way the UT defense isn't that great either ranking 69th versus the rush, 24th on the pass, and 43rd overall.

For a comparison Bama ranks with the 12th rushing attack (LSU 29th), total offense 24th (LSU 80th), Rushing Defense ranks 1 (LSU 6), pass defense 5th (LSU 15th), and total defense Bama ranks # 1(LSU 4).

I know, there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

What happened to the Vols? They used to be one of the best SEC teams, but they have really gone down. That doesn't mean they couldn't upset a highly favored team, but they have been a shell of their former self.

It's really young team across the board. They'll return just about everyone on offense next year and I expect to see some dramatic improvement. The game in Knoxville next season is going to be one to be wary of.

at times they ran the ball very well against LSU... highlighting what i consider to be the only slightly weak spot on the LSU team - the D-line is susceptible to inside running.

tenn is getting better. i think they would have fared better in the lSU game had they just ran the ball about twice as much and punted. their passing game got them in trouble several times.

My thoughts exactly. I may be wrong, but I believe if they will leave Dooley alone, he'll have them back competing again in a few years.

I don't know about DD....great guy and all, but there is nothing in his resume to suggest that he is a "Good" HC. However, right now it doesn't look as if the East has very many great coaches, so I guess they have as good a shot as any over on that side. I just don't see DD ever being able to out-recruit UF or UGA.
