Few updates for today:

- It's a 2 a day/Full pads

- Tony Brown seems to be fine with his shoulder.

- Fitzpatrick is still taking 1st team reps in Dime/Nickel

- Hump is back in practice fully and doesn't seem to be slowed down

- Front 7 look sexy

- Black is still alittle slow but getting better

- Coker has already thrown an interception (JK)

- Reuben Foster seems to have solidified his spot at Will

- Ronnie Harrison taking 1st team reps at Dime and Nickel as well.

There really does seem to be a couple that stand out from the rest. One in particular seemed more consistent.
Receiver didn't have to stop, slow down, or change the route.

The team was on the field early Thursday for the second two-a-day of fall camp. It was the eighth practice so far. Here is what I saw during the limited viewing period.

Quarterbacks continued to work in two groups: Jake Coker/Alec Morris in one, David Cornwell/Cooper Bateman/Blake Barnett in another.

Chris Black continues to be limited as does Marlon Humphrey. Bo Scarbrough was still in a black jersey.

Defensive tackle Josh Frazier sustained a minor left leg injury during the viewing period, but it wasn't bad and he hopped back in line during drills.

Tight ends went through drills in the following order: O.J. Howard, Johnny Dwight, Ty Flournoy-Smith, Dakota Ball and Hal Hentges.

In the first team dime drills it was: Cyrus Jones at right corner, Anthony Averett at left corner, Maurice Smith and Minkah Fitzpatrick at some combination of Star/Money, and Eddie Jackson and Geno Smith at safety. Reuben Foster with the middle linebacker.

The quarterbacks looked more sharp. The only incompletion witnessed was a drop from Calvin Ridley.

Up next: The second practice of the day at 7:30 p.m.

Buddy of mine at work in our San Diego office is an old friend of Barnett's high school coach. He told me after we signed him we got a good one, said his high school coach was very high on Barnett.

I've thought from the very beginning that Barnett was smart, athletic and accurate. I also thought he was very mature fore a true freshman, but then found out that he and a couple of his buddies got kicked off of one of the T-Town golf courses for riding their golf carts through the sand traps, and were smartasses when approached about it.

Having said that, he's obviously still got some kid in him, but who doesn't. However, if he's the best out there, play him.

I'd be lying if I said that nothing like that has ever happened to me...with golf cart winding up in the water...

If Barnett is 6, in the first clip he's putting the ball high and to the outside shoulder away from where the defender should be if the receiver gets his separation. Others were throwing low, middle of the chest, or inside. That's mostly what I saw there.

Didn't catch him, but would be very consistent with why those 2 are leading. It may seem a trivial thing to the casual observer, but if you can't do the little things right you can't be trusted with bigger things.

I got one for you guys, playing a round about 7 years ago, had the cart on a small hill (as there really aren't any hills up in north Texas).

From the fairway, I put my ball on the green (long par 5), I'm parked on the hill, walk back to the cart and decide to have some fun. I went flying down the hill (40' or so) and unsuccessfully attempted a power slide. The grass was dry as hell, tires gripped and I rolled the cart.

In perfect synchronization, I slid out of the car as the cart was tipping over. The top of the cart came down on my lower leg and I thought for sure I broke it. Clubs flying everywhere, balls all over the place, drinks emptied. This happened on the 9th hole, I played the rest of the round limping like crazy.

We laughed for probably 3-4 holes and still laugh a bit to this day at that.

So there you go, one of my many golf stories.

I won't hijack the thread any further, but I've got one I'll post in the quad, that is the funniest golf cart story I've ever heard.
