🏈 Team Update 3 August, 2015.

Saban on ESPN today, talks about team chemistry and QB development/selection process.

When asked how the qb competition was going, Saban said they started the spring with 5 qb's taking reps. I took his statement to mean 5 are no longer taking reps. Has he culled the number, or am I reading too much into what he said? Is Bateman still taking reps?

Quite honestly at this point, if the info we know is even remotely correct, it almost is counter-intuitive to start any of the others over BB. If you're convinced the rest of the lot are a liability at QB, then why not give the keys to the guy who is going to be THE GUY for the next few seasons anyhow?

My buddy Drew is interviewing him today 1230 CST, www.977thezone.com

George Whitfield is certainly talking Barnett up. Sounds like George is getting on the BB bandwagon.

I appreciate you guys updating the board about the interview. I couldn't listen at work today. For some reason, I was thinking it was going to be an article.

Drew is big time. I always knew this is what he would wind up doing, but once it happened, it seems like it happened REALLY fast. I tried to tell the folks on Woolly last year when Drew breaking stories back to back to back that he was legit.

Per Aaron Suttles, Tidesports.com

It was a hot day on the back field as the Tide worked its 11th practice of the fall camp and the last practice before the first scrimmage of fall camp. Here is what I saw during the limited viewing period.

Freshman offensive lineman Lester Cotton was absent from practice as he was last night. Again, it's a minor injury and nothing that will keep him for an extended period.

Marlon Humphrey continued being eased back into action but he still remains a bit limited. Chris Black again stood to the side and watched drills. He continues to wear a regular jersey in practice during the viewing period. I have to think he'll sit out of tomorrow's scrimmage. More on that as it becomes available.

There were scouts galore at practice, including three from the Buffalo Bills, and one each from the San Diego Chargers and Indianapolis Colts.

I'll have a closer look at the outside linebackers this evening. Tosh Lupoi is really raising the expectations.

The dime drills remains the same as the last two years.

Maurice Clarett is on campus to talk to the team tonight.
