🏈 Team update 2.0

Seth Franks is the "walk on" QB that joined when the roster expanded.
Kid I coached in HS is a preferred walk-on Frosh this year- Edwaun McNeil. Very smart kid. Got an academic scholarship.

He was a great 4-3 Mike for us. We moved him to DE eventually because he was so great at getting to the QB and we had another serviceable Mike. 6'1", 230, he had offers from several small schools, but wanted to be at Bama. Smart, instinctual kid tht has a nose for the ball, and a hard worker. I'd love to see him get some PT and work his way into a role...

247 had him listed as a 4* player, #7 in the state: http://247sports.com/Player/Edwaun-McNeil-32750

Some of ya'll need to chill with that comment about Frank.. read and undestand the background of his recuiting... Dude got sick and lost 20 lbs.. and he was 160lbs when he was visiting D1 schools... lot of school backed out because of that weight. he gained 20lbs back... He has some potential down the road. Need to add 20lbs more pounds and get better ... He has legitmate chance...

I imagine if Franks lost a lot of weight, 160-165 would scare schools away. Possibly Mono that sapped the weight from him. @Fishintide, if the kid has put any of that weight back on, plus the weight that SC can put on kids, he could see the field like a few kids back in '09 did. Will Lowery or Cory Reamer ring a bell? If the kid is an athlete and can contribute in ANY shape, form, or fashion, they will get him in a spot.

As one article mentioned, Franks is probably in the same mold as Luke Del Rio was, and Del Rio would likely be a strong contender for the starting job at Bama had he not transferred. Franks has legit arm strength, if you watch the video. Can fling it 45-50 yards pretty effortlessly.

Kids are still growing/filling out when entering 1st year of college. Blake has come along way as seen in video below of him arriving on campus.

Speaking of Del Rio, is he starting for OSU this year? I guess I could have just googled the info in the time it took to post this but ehhh...you do it.
