🏈 Team update 2.0

He was the guy who wrote the article during Media Days about Saban making excuses wasn't he? When Saban was talking about when the NFL should wait to release draft information till after a player's college season has concluded. Andy Staples took him to the woodshed on Finebaum. Clearly anti-Saban in his writings if same guy.

Yes sir. USA Today article titled something like lame excuses for a lame season finish.

Oh shit. Wonder if that means we have more/worse injuries than we know about.

No.

He's said this before. More than once, in fact. It's always come in the post-practice pressers. The point people (media) are making a big deal of this is asinine.

I like reading most of Suttles content but this smells of him bitching about little to do with nothing; again. Hell, he was complaining the other day on Twitter about Herbstreit being able to attend practice and he was limited to the media viewing period.

Whether you like ESPN or not, there's one undeniable fact. ESPN College GameDay >>>>>>>>> to ∞ Tidesports.com or the Tuscaloosa News.

I've not seen the presser yet but I can easily imagine this happening ...

Coker was going through reps leading one group of QB's today wearing a black jersey.

Players currently banged up are wearing the black jersey which means "injured."

So, I'm guessing someone asked about Jake, the black jersey, and if it had significance other than "QB no-contact."

He is still on profile for the toe.

Boz, other than the obvious QB situation, what are somethings specifically you are gonna try and keep an eye on tomorrow? I know someone already mentioned RG but possible D-Line rotation could be interesting. Seeing if Payne is still two-deep?

I kind of have a system if you will. In warm-ups i note who won't be participating.

When it fires off I look at kickoff return players

I then check 1st team personnel

Watch the qb play, then a play of oline play, etc.

After a full series of offense I move to the defense

Same thing note personnel and DL push, any areas I think are weak or lacking.

Watch punter, punt return players

Rinse and repeat.

With the qb race in full swing I'll watch them closely once or twice per series.

Has anyone thought of this: Coker ran the wing T or some similar crazy old-fashioned super run-heavy offense in high school. Could be we're going to run a lot of read option stuff to try and take some of the decisions off of Coker. I know it sounds crazy and I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but Gus took Nick Marshall and made him into a winning SEC quarterback with such a system. That's a small miracle itself and Coker can't be any worse than Marshall. Why couldn't Kiffin follow that plan?
