Ironically Washington is playing no better than Bama. I watched their Regional and they were fortunate to advance. Oklahoma will run-rule either one of them in the first round of the WCWS.

I sincerely appreciate Murphy and everything he has done but I really think it's time for him to move on. Sometimes a coach just needs a new environment and a team needs a new leader.

He has slowly allowed the program to go downhill since the championship season. They have had a bit of a late season hot streak at the plate, but overall the offense is total shit and has been for years. If they don't get a dominant pitching performance they are going to lose much more often than not to the top teams even if they only give up 3 or 4 runs. It's still a top 15ish program, but that puts you squarely in the middle of the pack in the SEC these days.

I wont go that far @PhillyGirl ...but even in big leagues...you see as a picture starting to lose a little... make a change....Alex had that game won for Bama....
But she needed help there in the seventh inning...
You cant pitch from behind and u cannot walk batters...especially late in close games....
She was not hitting the corners.....well.....great year anyway....Roll Tide

You can acknowledge that someone built a program, that they gave it success and honor, while also acknowledging a need for change.

Murphy is a great dude but I haven't seen this team be truly competitive in about 5 years.

Coach Saban has been model by which every university has wanted to hire a football coach. All the stupid rules in place and he still wins. He brings in the best staff, offensive, and defensive players. Likewise, if that old goat in Oklahoma can do nearly the same with her program, Murphy needs to step up his recruiting game. Gasso's teams hit and pitch. Like @planomateo said, sometimes we get one but not the other. Can't win that way.

Murphy has the staff. Habetz and Prothro are really good, especially the latter. I'm grateful that Murphy changed his mind and left Red Stick after a day, but now his teams are no longer feared. That needs to change...ASAP.

I won't visit that site any time soon. Just like @PhillyGirl said, it's been years since we've been a really feared team. I want Murphy to stoke his own internal fire a lot more.

And it use to be 2-3 SEC teams playing competitive ball....now its 7-8....
Diluted talent..... 2 SEC teams made World Series.... thats all..
and they open play vs each other....

He needs to get a hitting coach. I believe Aly has been in that role and as was the case with girls like Runyon most come in and do well their first year then they just never get coached to adjust once opposing coaches and pitchers start pitching them differently. Hes still getting good recruits as we see with Hemphill and Tow but the other role players just arent contributing very much like they did when Braud and Traina were there.
