It was all business when they were together. As strictly regimented as the days are for assistants it's not like the day affords a couple of guys sitting down in the break room chattin'.

That doesn't imply they didn't get along; or still don't. Like I mentioned earlier, the regimented routine Saban requires wasn't being met.
They continue to communicate with each other. Lane's mentioned it a few times.

I don't want to see Alabama sink to the levels of a Mississippi school. Right now, based on Lane being Lane, that's what would happen. He wouldn't get a look if they were seeking a coach today.
