A good coach can win with both. I remember the 2008 team was filled with overachieving 3 stars and a sprinkle of 5 stars.

But I agree it’s easier with the 5’s. Especially if you can control all the ego’s like Coach Saban could. It’s a little harder to do that nowadays with the portal/NIL.

I never mentioned anything about CKD. I just made a simple point that We don't NEED STUDS FOR every position. What we need someone who can do the job well and know his assignments. Having a stud player, is not necessary always a good thing for any school... because of entitlement and attitude thinking I'm above ya'll.

The reason I made a comment because you brought in Saban and CKD and start talking about them when it has nothing to do with the conversation.

Texas A and M had studs and look at what happened to them. Did Ole Miss do same? Georgia? This argument doesn't hold up quite well.

Studs on DL change you're capabilities on D entirely. If you didn't notice saban really made it a point to recruit top players at every position. I wonder why? Oh yeah it's because the team with the best players wins quite often. I would imagine your in person conversations are a lot different than your online conversations, people tend to be a lot more willing to spout bs online.

@Justneedme81 I'm glad you've figured out all my issues but you really missed my main issue, I have trouble with stupidity, it really irritates me. i didn't go down any rabbit hole, I stated my opinion on important position players and asked if you thought CKD was good enough at coaching that he didn't need them. As usual you don't have a real response so you spout a bunch of bs and avoid any real conversation because you lack any real points. Have a nice day.

Studs with mediocre coaching gets you what we saw with A&M. Not sure I would say Ole Miss has a ton of studs. They certainly do not have great coaching. Good maybe but not great.... Georgia is probably the outlier in your list but they may be the last team standing when the dust clears even in a down year. You know like Bama used to be. Great coaching was certainly missing tonight on the Bama sidelines and certainly missing during the week of prep and game planning.

CKD has got to get his own players in the Locker room…and ALL influences and pressure from the GOAT out of his program… That may take time and patience…He has got to sell his system and coaching to “his type of guys”… I just think coaching this team may be harder than we all believe..Don’t expect a top 5 class this year…

Takes time and you have to get the right people in the right seats to be effective. Team has to get more reps to execuate at a high level. The coaching staff has to learn and grow into what that are going to face week in and week out.

I don’t think CKD can reach a majority of this team…They appear to do what ever they want to do… Maybe they aren’t coachable by him, because they came from Saban’s coaching.. who knows… but there is a disconnect somewhere..

I keep going back to CKD's record to help me believe he is still the right guy. No one wins that many games w/o there being some substance. Will he find his way in the SEC? I want to believe he will.

I think it was Just Need Me that said a few days ago, Courtney Morgan is about to earn his big paycheck in the next few weeks. We’ve lost a couple of big commits before that trip to Norman. Getting this class to sign on the dotted line will be the rubber hitting the road.
