Chelsea tried to lose today; after all, the game was at home. :cautious: Still pulled out a win. Currently, Chelsea's a poorly disciplined team.

A week old, but I just ran across this. Probably keeps Newcastle from advancing in the Champions League.

VAR official removed from Champions League game after late penalty decision

"GENEVA — A video review official has been removed from his Champions League game on Wednesday, one day after having a key role in a disputed decision to award Paris Saint-Germain a stoppage-time penalty for handball against Newcastle which contradicted UEFA’s own advice to referees.

The VAR specialist from Poland, Tomasz Kwiatkowski, is no longer listed to work at the Real Sociedad-Salzburg game and has been replaced by a German match official.

In Paris on Tuesday, Kylian Mbappé scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw after a ball struck Newcastle defender Tino Livramento in the chest and then deflected off his arm, and a penalty was awarded by Polish referee Szymon Marciniak following a VAR review."

Liverpool moves back on top and Everton already out of the relegation zone after their 10 point deduction. I'm a huge Sean Dyche fan, but I didn't think they'd climb back out that quick.

Chelsea's free! Free fallin'!

Man City down to 4th after taking only 6 of possible 15 points from their last 5 matches. Arsenal in the lead only one point ahead of Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Everton would currently be in 10th if not for their FFP penalty. Didn't see that coming (the potential placing), and I'm a Dyche fan.

Nuno Espirito Santo chosen to replace Steve Cooper @ Nottingham Forest:

He is one of the absolute best coaches to guide Nottingham right back to the championship.

What else was Cooper supposed to do with the squad he had?

I’m stunned that Liverpool are second on the table. At times we’ve looked like hot garbage

Excuse you, no one has looked more like hot garbage than Chelsea, okay? 😁

Seriously though, Liverpool has shown a lot of inconsistency this season, but fortunately for them, everyone has completely one upped them in that regard. Newcastle is once again looking like Newcastle. Man U...HA! In May, I still expect the same old, same old. 1. Man City 2. Liverpool

I think by the end it’ll be Man City and Liverpool in some order.

One game we go from a 0-0 draw to winning 5-1, mind boggling

Newcastle just blew our doors off 4 - 1 recently. Yesterday, we beat them in PKs. It is mindboggling. In Liverpool's case, however, Klopp is still the right man in the right role. He and Pep...And probably DeZerbi.

DeZerbi is Pep's preferred replacement at Man City when his contract is up.
