šŸ“” Should a high school team be banned from postseason play when fans get involved on the court during a fight?

Back in 2008, a basketball game between Carver Mongomery and Valley High School ended with an ugly brawl that ended in the stands with plenty of locals having at it. They both received a one-year postseason ban. Not sure if they learned anything from that experience but many claimed as they were escorted out that a great time was had by all.

A lot of the cutures within thiscountry.....yep.....to far gone to recover....buts its not the majority of thecountry....maybe within the boundaries of the majority of the population though...

What cultures are you trying to suggest are the cause of it "being too far gone," cause the "cultures" I've seen contribute the most brawls at sporting events around here - mostly at little league games at that - are the kind of 'cultures' where the women chew tobacco and family tree's dont have very many branches.

He may be speaking of the ā€œlook out for number 1 and screw you guysā€ culture. The sense of entitlement and the sense of being above reproach culture. It isn’t a black or white issue, this problem doesn’t discriminate. I’ve seen it for 25 years in education and during my coaching. Kids can’t follow rules and parents support them no matter what!!

That seems to be an American issue in general these days and not just a certain age group. I see so many baby boomers acting just like that just like I see whatever you consider teens now. Its getting worse and worse.

Baby Boomers defined by wikipedia as babys born after WW2, from 1946 - 1964, 55 years old to 73 years old. Generally speaking, this age group is not part of the me me me, grandiose, entitled, hot headed generations that seem to follow. Get back now, I'm not claiming that all the baby boomers should be proclaimed ready for Sainthhod, hell I can be as thick headed as anyone else on occasion. Also, I'm not claiming that everyone born after 1964 is a hothead or feels entitled. So many adults born between 1964 and now are HELLA good, great people who do not expect anything from anybody. But, IMHO, in the last 30 to 40 years, there has been a change in humility and attitudes. in all facets of our society, top to bottom.

I do believe that past generations would be shocked at the incredible speed in which people have managed to screw up family life. When I was growing up Dr. Spock was the new age Darwin of his day in family behavior. Unfortunately, Spock later in life admitted he was just winging it. Once people buy in, there's no going back.

Some conferences(regions in Alabama) have rules that if you are thrown out of a game, you are fined and or removed from the school property for up to a year. The county next to ours has a $150 fine if you are tossed from a game.

Just to be clear, the individual thrown out of the game is fined on the spot, the officer writes a ticket immediately. This has cut down on almost all problems. Just because you pay $5 to go to a high school game, it DOES NOT give you the right to act like a complete idiot toward the officials, coach's or other team members or fans!!!

We kept a list at the ticket table that had the names of those banned! Some would still want to act like an ass when the police escorted them out.
