I caught Rodney Orr's radio program last night. Suttles of Tidesports.com was his guest for a half hour.

Their take:

Collins is firm to Bama. He did take an unofficial visit to LSU this week, but word is he wore a Bama T-shirt.

All of our commitments in the state of Georgia seem solid. There are a couple Georgia is still chasing, but no reason to worry.

Both think that Eddie Goldman ends up at FSU.

Both think Winston stays firm to FSU.

We are still after Korren Kirven, a DL type from Virginia and Dalvin Tomlinson, DL from Georgia.

I follow MLB fairly close. Right now, he projects somewhere around the 3rd or 4th round, unless he has a great senoir year. I think he goes to college if he's not in the 1st or high 2nd round. At least he should.

You are spot on, Bo. His family is solid middle class folks. There is no urgency for pro baseball dollars unless it is very early round money. I have a friend who follows this as solidly as you do and he agress with your asessment of where he would go.

Thanks, that was lower than some other people I know had suggested (2nd roundish). I thought if he was going around the 2nd, that would probably be too much to turn down (I don't know the breakdown of how much kids get in the MLB draft though).

I still think we get a shocker on NSD. Perhaps Goldman, maybe someone else. But, I can't see us picking up too many prospects especially with us already having to greyshirt one player.

Duder is right, I think instead of Goldman the staff has centered it's attention on Korren Kirven - DT out of VA.

I think we get the Kirvan kid and maybe the Washington kid out of GA. Heard some of the recruiting gurus talking about Goldman, says he sometimes disappears on the field and takes plays off. Maybe the in home was cancelled on our end.

From what I have seen, most people feel like DGB is heading to Arky...now, he's kept things pretty close to the vest (kinda like Julio), but even if he doesn't end up at Arky I highly doubt that he comes to BAMA.

Also, thinking that Saban would cancel an in-home visit to a recruit like Goldman is wishful thinking. We have an absolutely stellar class as it is right now, and there is nothing wrong with losing out on a few of the ones that we would really love to have...which is more likely what happened.

It must be tough for recruits. I mean, really. They've got to be thinking to themselves: Who do I want to be playing for when I get my head kicked in by Alabama? Should I lose playing for Missouri or Arkansas?

I really feel for these young men.

In all seriousness I'd see Goldman over DGB...we aren't really on the DGB radar, and we've got a legitimate shot with Goldman. Most of the people who polled him did so before the BCS Games and he's been pretty quiet since then about whom he wants. I think FSU is definitely the school to beat, but if anyone can land him it's us.
