🏈 Our Run Defense.....

Have we actually played a power run team yet this year?
More than one, but we can start with A&M.

What's interesting to me is we saw the same thing with the Aggies as we've seen with a few other teams. The defense wasn't getting "ran through." They did have breakdowns that led to their yards.
Not sure I would classify aTm as a power run team. Their 2nd leading rusher is the QB and Trayveon Williams isn't what I would consider a power running back.

I honestly don't think we've seen a rushing game like what UGa has/uses. Not saying they are world beaters in the running game, but I do think they will try to control the clock with the running game and force us to stop that first.

I think Swift and Hollyfield will be a handful for us to stop without bringing down a safety. It could be the first team the make us do that this year...

A&M and Miss State are both power run teams, as well as the Barn. Doesn't matter if they are QB runs or not. It is in the line blocking schemes. Pulling linemen and just straight up man on man is the key.
Yes, I understand that... but didn't think they ran that scheme.

Look more at the line play and less at who is actually the ball carrier. A lot of guard and tackles pulling or straight man blocking, regardless of the ballcarrier.

Our run defense isn't as good as it's been... Think it also has something to do with an edge defender or two not consistently closing it off.

On the other hand, as long as the pass D and pass rush hold up who cares? Funny to be on the opposing end of things where we can actually outscore everyone pretty quickly with the pass...

But if we know Georgia isn't going to pass more than 25 times, we can prep for the run heavy O. Which has been the case with UGA all year

JMO but #47 Miller is average for Bama and #33 is much better at rushing the passer. UGA is going to score and often. The have 3-4 really good receivers and they will kill us with that big TE in addition to have two great RB's.

#13 will need to win this game just like he did vs the Barn.

Leonard's Loser...........Hairy Dawgs

Bama 34 UGA 31

Maybe we should just give it to them then? You’ve been negative all season!

What the hell game were you watching?
Lost me here, Josh.

The adjustments the staff made at the half had a lot to do with how the Tide ran away with the game in the second half (trailing a receiver while the others took their split safeties deep) but Tua was the catalyst.

Josh.........#13 runs this Bama machine and don't forget it. Without him playing a the level he has played you would have never heard anything about "this is the bestest best Bama team EVAH". The kid makes everybody around him on offense better. Bless his heart and keep him healthy.

UG has IMO the best tandem of backs Alabama will have faced. Offsetting that to some extent is UG blocking scheme won't give Alabama quite the issue(s) that some of the other teams have given. That is my opinion based off of watching the UG offense against the better D-lines they've played. I do expect to see them break a couple or 3 nice runs and that is just because that 2nd layer of beef just ain't as thick for the Bama D.

I think how Tua and the receivers perform against the UG defense will be 75% of Alabama winning, the other 25% will be pressure on Fromm and secondary stepping up in man against the Ga receivers

I believe #89 just might have a great game vs the Fighting Kirby's. Bama needs to make them kick FG's as much as possible instead of allowing some long TD's. UGA has two big physical receivers in Holloman and Ridely's brother as well as the big TE who I believe will be a huge part of UGA's plan for The King.

the big TE who I believe will be a huge part of UGA's plan

He probably worries me as much as any single player they have when I think about it. Swift is also sneaky as a receiver out of the backfield
Lord knows we don't cover the RB on the wheel route.... ever.... just saying...

Just watched the UA vs AU replay and #4 for Bama is a problem. I have to assume at this point there is Nobody better behind the guy. He will step up and make a nice play and then take 2 plays off. #70 on offense didn't have a great game either.

Smith got dusted several times by Schwartz. It’s almost like he just stops paying attention

He is also the one that was standing with his feet in the soup bowl on the 2 blown option plays against Citadel
