Haven't you heard Woodward makes people tell him no. Saw a report he has already reached out to Jimbo and will reach out to Dabo. If this is indeed his MO, seems like he would also at least make a call to Saban as odd as that sounds.

Franklin is another Dan Mullen but maybe not as good. Would love to see Franklin in Baton Rouge.

Totally agree. He’s a CEO coach and USC is job that can fit that type much better. It’s the most NFL style job in CFB.

Yep. His personality would do well at USC too. He'd do well there. Fickell is a great coach, but absolutely doesn't fit at USC. Franklin does not fit in Baton Rouge.

Franklin doesn’t fit in the current culture. But that’s what needs to change. Bring a coach in who can change the culture.

Whoever replaces the shrimp boat captain will have a huge mess to clean up and work around with all of the Title IX stuff and sexual assault allegations/coverups. That right there is enough to turn A LOT of these big names away or at least make them a little skittish to jump on it without having some heavy considerations in the contract, allowing them to still get paid when the axe falls.

I meant that Franklin can handle the LA scene, as it takes a certain salesmanship, and personality to handle there being about 6 other teams locally who are followed first before your football program. Yes, the culture there needs turned upside-down.

Pardon my candor, but Coach Ogre has always struck me as an ignorant, neanderthal thug who cultivates a classless cesspool environment wherever he goes (punch self in face, here). I hate to see him leave the bayou. The real question for me is whether LSU is as elite of a job at this time as the LSU faithful seem to think it is. Based on what I'm seeing and hearing, they seem to think they can get anyone they choose. I'm not so sure about that.

I think it will come down to what is percolating around with regards to the off the field issues. Is there enough smoke there to make a future coach pause? It will not be because of the $$ they can make or the talent that can be attracted to Baton Rouge. Hoping off field issues scare a really good coach off (most of this is the institutional stuff so may not be specific to football).

I think it is a crap shoot when you are hiring possible up and comers. Saban was not a crap shoot for anyone. Point being if you are an attractive destination you do not have to take a chance. Mal almost did because he was being pressured fortunately old Rita took care of that for us. The rest is history.
