šŸˆ Ohio State Has Alabama Beat in Every Metric to Make the College Football Playoff

Anybody that thinks any differently than this just might need rehab.

There’s no way in hell we can beat OU or Clemson and I have no interest in watching Bama get curbstomped

I have no concern about Clemson. They would be the matchup we would want. Oklahoma is the concern. Mayfield would destroy our soft secondary and that would be embarrassing. Oklahoma's defense is pitiful of course, so we could hang for a little bit. Clemson has not played as well as you're eluding to by us not wanting any piece of them. Lost to Syracuse, played Auburn, Wake Forest, and NC State very close and could have lost any of those. Bryant is a good quarterback, but can clearly be rattled with a good defensuve plan, which after yeaterday I question Pruitt's ability to do just that. Clemson's defense is tough, but there are multiple blue prints to keep them at bay, so Clemson is the matchup we want.

Hey, let’s compare the resumes of Alabama and Ohio State, because both can still make the college football playoff! But only one will. If Ohio State takes down undefeated Wisconsin, the Buckeyes will have the Tide beat in every category that matters.

Conference Championship: Ohio State, by beating undefeated Wisconsin, would win the Big 10. Alabama has no shot.

Quality wins: Alabama has one win over a team that will be in the Top 25 on Tuesday. That’s LSU. Ohio State has two wins over teams that will be in the Top 25 on Tuesday. That’s Penn State (which will be higher than LSU) and Michigan State. It’s unclear how far the committee will drop Mississippi State (lost to unranked Ole Miss) or raise Iowa (beat Nebraska).

Ohio State will add a quality win if it beats undefeated Wisconsin in the Big 10 title game.

Strength of Schedule: Ohio State (56) was slightly ahead of Alabama (61) heading into Saturday. Alabama will surge ahead with the loss to Auburn. But Ohio State, with a win over unbeaten Wisconsin, would forge back ahead.

FPI: A made-up stat by ESPN had Alabama narrowly ahead of Ohio State going into Saturday’s game, 28.9 to 26.1. That is likely to change after Alabama was dominated by Auburn in every statistical category. And if Ohio State beats Wisconsin … you get the picture.

Alabama’s sitting in the clubhouse with an 11-1 season and no way to help itself. The only way it gets in: TCU beats Oklahoma, or Miami topples Clemson. At that point, Alabama’s resume could compare favorably with TCU or Miami, and it would certainly have ā€œbrand name cachetā€ (which matters!) over the Horned Frogs.

I really think this will happen. Auburn will be without their top 3 RBs for the game. Can't beat Georgia being one-dimensional. And Stidham can't carry the running load.
Gus will run Johnson 30+ carries even if he's hurt. The kid will want to play and I doubt the doctors say he can't. Watch and see... Gus will batter ram Johnson until his legs fall off (or shoulder as it might be)...

I get your point but honestly, I don’t give a shit about Johnson or any of those players.

Nobody is considering UGA beating AU in the SECCG and being a 1-loss conference champion. That would put them in over Alabama.

I'm not sure why it matters if Georgia or Auburn wins, because whomever wins this game will be in. Alabama needs Ohio State or TCU to win. I think Ohio State beats Wisconsin. Hopefully it's a game similar to our game against Auburn where Wisconsin doesn't show it's grit against a team the Playoff committee loves and that they land ahead of us, but I also hope Ohio State doesn't pull that crap from last year where they win by 50 points and it catapults them ahead of us. Oklahoma likely drills TCU again, unless Gary Patterson masterminds a genius defensive effort, which isn't totally out of the question.

I think...

1. SEC Champion
2. ACC Champion
3. Oklahoma/Wisconsin or Ohio State if both teams before lose
4. Alabama

After the Iron Bowl I even wonder if we deserve to be in the Top 4, but I do not want to discount the ability of this team. We have playmakers all over the field per usual. We have over a month to get healthy and get Lewis, Miller, and Wilson hitting in practice again. And hopefully it will give Saban, Daboll, and Pruitt enough time to create a formidable gameplan that doesn't suck as much ass as the one against Auburn did. I'm all for trying out some new blood in the secondary, because what we have ain't cutting it. Even Ronnie Harrison was nowhere to be found (other than the hit on Johnson on the goal line that was a big time hit) against Auburn, and he is usually all over the place. He had seven tackles, but never saw him much. A freaking true freshman led our team in tackles. Nothing wrong with that as he is a linebacker against a running team, but our front seven outta be ashamed. Anyways, if we get in, which I like our odds, hopefully we come to the table hungry instead of limping in like we did this past weekend.

Wait a minute.....
Alabama has been #1 almost all year....
Eye test....had a bad game....as all but one power conference team has had...(most more).....
And all of a sudden we cant beat anybody...JH has had one bad game in 2 years and all of a sudden we want TUA...
Well...WTF..... if Wisconsin falls...which they may not....Bama is in unless the committee says...no 2 teams from the same conference....thats all that keeps us out...
Osu has been blown out...they are not in....period... penn State s bad lost last year...really is what kept them out...and osu laid an egg in the face to the committee vs Clemson.... Oklahoma or tcu. Doesnt matter.....tcu win might open door wider but it's Wisconsin vs osu .....period.... and remember boys....
Give NS a chance to get this team healthy...nobody..nobody can beat them

Look, I'll be the first to admit how crappy our schedule was this year. Our two SEC East teams were the only two winless teams in conference play, until they played each other at the end. Also we struggled against every decent team on our schedule: FSU, A&M, LSU, MSU, and Auburn.

But for the love of god, why is everyone discounting our win against FSU???!!! It's like they have forgotten FSU was preseason #3 and has a roster loaded with NFL prospects. Yes, Fran-whatever-his-name-is got injured, but he left the game late in the 4th quarter after it was already decided. WE BEAT A GREAT FSU TEAM. Yes, FSU folded as the season progressed, but that's just the risk of having so many blue-chips on a roster. The moment your Heisman-caliber QB goes down, and you begin losing a few games when everyone in the preseason was ready to put you into the college playoff, all these blue-chips will begin thinking more about their NFL futures rather than salvaging the season for some petty Dot.com Bowl.

Clemson would spread the field and us their speed to make it a long night for BAMA. Remember, we have had very little success rushing the passer this year. Bryant, being an athletic QB, would feast on our defense. We just don't have the dominate D-line to hold them. It would end up being an embarrassing loss for us. Teams make a name for themselves as being great by beating BAMA because we have been the standard for so long. Both Clemson and Oklahoma would have no mercy. JMO.

Listen guys. I am disappointed we lost too but it had to be expected a little. We have been putting 13 and 14 guys in the NFL every year and many of them coming off of the line of scrimmage and line backer core. So we were thin on experienced depth and with a few injuries we quickly became overmatched by senior laden Auburn lines of scrimmage. Mix that with no called holding penalties on Auburn and you will get beat. Look at their recievers holding our CBs on those screens and their CB's holding our WR. They knew that they didn't have to hold them long because their rush would get to us but every play they held them for a two count out of their breaks. They had a great game plan and if the officials don't call holding then they are difficult to beat.

Stop beating up players though and bad mouthing the team. That is how you sour your football team and prevent recruits from wanting to come here. Players read what is out there on social media and these boards so cut out the bullshit. We are a great team who just went 11-1 and lost to another good team on their home field in a hostile environment. The season isn't over and we are capable of beating anyone on any given day. I am real with my assesments of our team but I am also proud as I can be of our program, the job that our staff has done and the back breaking work that our players have put in to winning.

Jalen had a rough game and made some questionable decisions but he has done his best, has won us some games and has been a model student athlete so get off his ass. I personally prefer a pocket QB with a different skill set but that doesn't mean I will turn on the kid. He is our QB so he is my guy.

Anyway, lets grow up a little, stop whining and playing the "ole' poor me's" and be real for a minute. You guys are wondering why recruiting is slower this year and then you look online at all the negative bs and constant judgement they get for coming here and you can see why. Nobody wants to live under a microscope. Give them a break and support your team.

I can see where you would think that, and there is evidence to prove your case. I just think we get more pressure on them knowing if we rattled Bryant it could be a long night for them. NOW, Pruitt would need to get his shit together after last weekend to make it a possibility, and we'll need some hurt guys back to form and healthier, but we could stop their offense. They are not built to run it 40 times like Auburn, so the pressure we would bring would help. We'd need to grind the clock no doubt, same thing I said against Auburn. Wear their defensive line down, as I'm not crazy about their defensive depth, and their secondary is susceptible. With this Playoff deal in place, any team will need to be on big time for multiple games or you risk losing to any of the four teams in it. Hopefully we get the opportunity to see!!!
