No surprise, the owners approve the move to sin city 31 to 1. The only nay vote was the Miami Dolphins. Should be a very nice destination for free agents with no state income tax. Oakland can moan and groan but they didn't want to improve on a stadium that was just plain bad by any standard.

Oakland finally has a decent team and they've moving to Vegas. Vegas is a tourist city, what will their home games be like.

Hope it sucks for the first few years. Business ($$$$$$$) decision, yeah, but the fans, the long-time fans in Oakland, got screwed on this deal. Are they going to try to return to Oakland in twenty years when the well has dried up here, too?

But then again, Cooper plays there...

Ya know, they aren't going to have the home field advantage a boisterous crowd can bring but I don't see how they'd have a hard time selling tickets.

A weekend in Vegas with a little gambling, a little entertainment, and then a NFL game to boot on a Sunday? Mind you, it's not how I'd spend my time on a Sunday in Vegas...my philanthropy and all would certainly interfere.

The silver and black are on the road again.... Who knows, they may move back to Oakland after a few years or if the city builds a stadium, they may not leave at all. I think its called holding the city hostage.

I won't lie, it would be fun to catch a game out in Vegas while on a gambling trip.

BUT, I think they definitely screwed the fans of Oakland that are some of the most diehard out there. I also think this will be big time trouble for players of the team and the guys that travel there for away games. Vegas is so tempting and I think we have all seen enough rich to broke stories with athletes. The idea of being responsible is not even an option.

Im confused here, didn the city just approve a vote to build a new stadium? And then like a week or two ago the Mayor said they would donate several acres for the stadium and some investment group pledged like 600 million or something like that to build it? If thats the case they arent leaving because of a stadium or lack thereof .

My numbers are wrong, it's $53M+. LA teams are paying $21 each and Raiders $11M.

Wait... are you saying those teams actually have to PAY the NFL for the right to relocate? Thats for real?

.my philandering and all would certainly interfere.

Fixed for ya :o

Being a fan of Oakland back to the Snake's day I can remember for decades watching football being played with a dirt baseball infield showing and wondering why they were still sharing a field with the A's baseball team. Could you imagine the Falcons and Braves still sharing Fulton Co Stadium with no upgrades to facilities?

So Oakland's city fathers get a conscience 2 or 3 days before the owners vote for moving. I just laughed when I heard it, this train has long left the station. If they were playing chicken with the Davis's and NFL, I would pronounce them officially roadkill.

Getting the relocation fee cut in half should tell you everything. The NFL doesn't want to be in Oakland, Vegas is the shinny new penny.

And make no mistake about it, the NFL will leverage this in the future. When the next team wants to relocate for a better stadium deal, who's to say Oakland isn't a possibility.

Summed up as simply as F*** The NFL.
