šŸ“” Nebraska & Coach Scott Frost under NCAA investigation

He's hitting on one portion of my opinion on Frost. While Frost said "it was a budget concern" which did mirror what the Nebraska AD had mentioned about their program he tried to cancel that game without the knowledge or approval of the AD.

Here's where I say he's overblown. When he was down at UCF he was sitting in the middle of a recruiting hotbed able to take those three star type Florida athletes and then take those athletes to compete against your AAC level opponents. You can win, as we saw, with that caliber of talent in that type of conference. (Watch the same thing happen with Gus.)

However, taking him out of that level of competition and putting him in the Nebraska situation shows he can't take that level of athlete and win in a conference like the B1G, or Big 12 for that matter. Small fish in a big pond, so to speak.

Here's something that can't be ignored: holding illegal practices and workouts and you're posting a 3-5 record—it's no wonder Alberts wants him out (which is widely rumored.)

Well, Frost today said he never tried to get out of the OU game despite McMurphy's multiple sources detailing how Frost and his Head of Ops (and best buddy) went behind the AD's back to try and get out of the OU game. So Frost has talked out of both sides of his mouth.

Completely agree on his UCF tenure. O'Leary was 12-2 just 2 years before Frost, winning a BCS bowl by beating an elite Baylor team. UCF has always been able to win tons of games in that conference and you don't have to be able to really recruit and can fall ass backwards into the most talent in the AAC as head coach at UCF.

Gus is going to do great there, as he's way better than Frost.

One thing I believe is sorely missed here is we've seen two cases were schools have ignored the Covid protocols set by the NCAA. That has pissed some people off; I'm sure of that.

I have no doubt. I laugh because it doesn't bother me in the least. Hell, the media was acting like it was Earth shattering actions. My point would be to ask if you look back were they decimated or spreading due to their actions. I would want to know the results. Sure, after the fact of breaking protocols, but it would possibly prove my point even more so.

Consider this. This case will be addressed after they handle the Arizona State case which mirrors this one. They had games cancelled because of their disregard to the protocols. It's my belief the "anger" felt towards ASU will carry over to the Nebraska case. Let's not forget, the PAC and the B1G still think everything they did last season was the right choice no matter how wrong they've been proven.

Well, exactly. I see how the SEC handled things and they worked out beautifully. I see how the Pac-12 and Big-10 acted, and even though Ohio State was still rewarded, both leagues looked like a bunch of idiots and punchlines. Yet, we're the Southern toothless idiots.

Take a look at the members of the Committee on Infractions and you'll find the majority aligned with the ideals/thoughts of both mentioned conferences.

Nebraska was one of the great teams in the past.
O so true...recruited and played blacks in 60s....which sec teams were dabbling in late in thedecade..then good teams in 70s....
Great following.... sold out every game...may still do..

Osborn could recuite....hit texas hard if I remember right....
And then the bottom fell out...

reminds me of Tennessee these days..the waythe program went down...

I love the fact that we have beat the living piss out of Tennessee for 16 years in a row.

Having said that, I think having a good Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas, ie, Blue Bloods of College football.....is good for the sport.

Be honest with yourself. Would it not mean more to beat a Tennessee team competing for the SEC east, rather than an eastern doormat?

Same can be said for Nebraska and Texas, USC.

@rammerjammer this!!!! If the Viles never won another game I would still enjoy and celebrate yet another bama beat down. Them being laughed at is icing on the cake. The Vile dislike runs deep even deeper than for the barn turds program.

I've never been one of those "Michigan being good is good for college football" type people. It's cyclical for about ten teams, and no different than the same teams continuing to win now. I prefer a little parity, but also believe in putting in the work and reaping those rewards, whomeverthat may be. All that being said, I'd rather Cincinnati get a chance over the continued failed Notre Dame experimentin the Playoffs.

Load up on Illinois. Line opened with Nebraska at -9 1/2, and is now down to -6 1/2. Illinois was Underdog Lock of the Year at +7 1/2 to +9 1/2. Home Team Underdog Lock of the Week at +6 1/2, and will probably win SU.

BB is going to have a decent team with 18 starters returning. Illinois won 41-23 at Nebraska last year with those 18 starters. Little reason to think they can't do it again at home.

I've heard that rumor but never seen anything to substantiate that happening.
It was real. See link.

You think so? Nebraska folks think this is a layup, easy 10-14+ point win because of their returning players and perceived improvement.

Read my statement again and think about why the line is down 3 points. Ask yourself why with two teams playing essentially the same guys as last year with the visitor winning by 18 points would that team not win at home this year.

Improvement? Illinois was the first of 3 losses in their last five games last year and Rutgers was one of the wins. By only a TD. If I was a Nebraska fan I sure as hell wouldn't be thinking it was a layup.

Add to that the odds makers don't have a clue for the first 2 to 3 weeks of a season. No way in hell should Nebraska have opened as a 9 1/2 point favorite. My brother spent the first two weeks of the season in Vegas for 20+ years because of that. Never won less than $10k. Won $40K in 2010. Hit a $250 seven game parlay paying 75 to 1. The Sportsbook couldn't payout. He had to go to the main cashier in the casino to cash in.
