🏈 NCAA looking further into textbook scandal

One thing you have to consider in respect to the articles you are going to see published.

Several newspapers requested information via the Freedom of Information Act. Those requests started just after this incident back in 2007.

Up until now, the University has received those requests, but basically didn't respond to them when they could have.

As example, they could have released the information about the letter of inquiry when it arrived. But, chose not to do so.

The media doesn't like that and I can understand why.

Yea, I can understand that too, but eh, i dunno, it just feels like there could be better things they could do, but I dont have an intelligent thing to say in response.

Well I don't really blame the University for waiting. Any kind of negative news would have hurt recruiting. Even if nothing comes of this it could have made some look elsewhere.

Of course if you go over the Augbarn boards we are definitely getting the death penalty. There is some serious wishful thinking going on over there.

Has Coach Saban had any comments on this?

No. He hasn't had a press conference since this UA release.

With spring camp starting Friday, he'll have a press conference, maybe two, this week.

But, I wouldn't hold my breath in anticipation of him saying anything of note about this situation.

I haven't been in the cabin, he has. The locker room was impressive to me. Especially thinking about what that must be like even on practice days...much less tournament days.

Hilly? Oh Yeah. I was shocked at how wide open it was the first time I played...I can see it now on TV, but it never really dawned on me just on TV coverage.

Even just watching the tourney live you get another impression of it when you see in on TV...literally, a different world.

Hell, I caught my breath just driving in...

I have a relative that works in the clubhouse. Didn't know this until a couple of years ago. Got the invite this year. Not sure that I can make the dates yet but it is one of the things I have on "The Bucket List". :)

NOT SURE YOU CAN MAKE THE DATES????

I would literally drop EVERYTHING to play that track

For me, dropping everything is not easy but I hear you. Believe me....I want to bad. Of course....I have a machete for the 14th club so it may never be the same afterwards.

I'd bet he erupts on a reporter at some point during those PC's over this however.

Yeah, Ian.

But eh, in all honesty, when I look at all these headlines I wonder if I am not in 2007 again. i mean, i had already known what went down, about how much of it went down (as far as money), and how widespread it was. All of it seems recycled, and the media seems angry it didnt get an official document from UA giving them the exact number off people and money involved.

If the truth wasn't in the same ballpark, id understand better, but its not a fresh story anymore, atleast within the state(and people who followed Alabama in 07)

Well, I guess I am just venting, I cannot deny that they have a point in complaining, its just frustrating.
