...that Ryan Mallet has asked for with Arkansas. If you recall, he left Michigan when RichRod was hired.

Still nothing on Colin Peek but he did submit his stuff a little later that Mallett.

Bad for Mallett and ARK. Good for everyoneelse.

Changing the subject slightly...

I think one of the break-out players in the SEC is going to be Casey Dick. He didn't do that badly last year. Part of his performance last year has to be attributed to not having Monk in the lineup. Then, part of it has to be attributed to their wildhog formation and having a player like McFadden back there to run it...

I talked about CD having a pretty decent year last year and got completely bashed for it from what I remember. Glad someone agrees with me...

I'm glad someone else has been drinking tonight besides me

I actually expect Dick to surprise the SEC next season. He's one of those guys you don't hear much about, and he'll sneak up behind you.

Person A. 57 percent completion. 18 TDs. 10 INTs. 127 passer rating.

Person B. 55 percent completion. 18 TDs. 12 INTs. 115 passer rating.

Which one would you say had the better year?

A, 262 attempts with 150 completions. 219/ game avg.
B. 462 attempts with 255 completions. 130/ game avg.

Simply making the point that much stronger. IF given more opportunities last year he would have done better.

Put Player A without his go to guy at WR. What happens? Player B didn't have his.

When you want to talk about QB development, would you rather have Nutt working with the QB or have Petrino?

If Petrino utilizes a short passing game I can see Dick prospering to a degree. No joke. He's not Joe Namath, but in the right system or under the right circumcision he can be a serviceble QB. He might surprise people this year.

In the long run, I would have to think the the Hogs are anticipating Mallet to be the QB of the future. From the Arkansas fans that I have spoken to, they don't see Dicks taking them to the Glory Land. However, Patrino and Mallet (obviously with a strong supporting cast) may.

True, Mallet may beat out Dicks to start in '10, but the point is that by having to wait, the offense will have a new offense in year 1, and a QB battle in year 2, not to mention any changes that might occur because Mallet may be able to do more than Dicks.

As long as they were already putting in a new offense, ARK's best case scenario was to go ahead and have Mallet take it from day one.

I think I understand your point here, but let me be sure.

You are talking about a battle between Nathan Dick and Mallet, not Casey, right? Casey will be a Sr. in the fall. Nathan, on the other hand, a Sophomore...pretty sure he 'shirted last season.

The choice is obvious unless someone doesn't have a brain.
