Only reason I have a hard time believing any of this is the "coach in waiting" deal back a month or so ago. If that was the case why even do that/allow it? He had to know the rumblings of Tubberville firing were already alive. Why even go through the whole Texas pc? It's not like this is a new development.
Also based on the fact that Jacobs is still there and is very much running the show I just don't see it. What could have happened to change that I don't know.
Actually, and I'm not saying it's true but, I wouldn't think the "coach in waiting" thing would slow him down from taking another job. If my current employer wanted to name me "CEO in waiting" and give me a raise, I would take it in a second. Then, if someone else swooped in a couple of months later and wanted to give me an even bigger raise and make me their CEO today, I would take that too. I don't understand why anyone thinks being named "coach in waiting" would keep these guys from taking other jobs.
