That is what is going around. ESPN's SportsCenter just reported on the same story you are linking to.

The thing is, how reliable are the Mobile television station's sources?

I saw that on Sports Center this morning as well. They started off by saying that Gary Patterson of TCU and Todd Graham of Tulsa interviewed for the job yesterday, then said Muschamp would be named Barn HC later today. Confused me as to why they would still be interviewing if they had their man?

Auburn people trying to say the comment below adds credence to the Muschamp hiring, but no specific coach is mentioned other than Tubby and the LB coach.

(Auburn) LB commit Eltoro Freeman about current Auburn Linebackers Coach James Willis.

"When I signed with Auburn out of high school, I liked their school. Coach Tub was a major role in my decision, but I signed to play for Auburn University, not Coach Tub or Willis. As far as the new coach, I play on the defensive side of the ball, so who ever they hire is not going to make a major impact with my position one way or the other. If I were a QB or a RB, yea, I would want to see who they hired first. I would need to know if they were going to throw or run the ball. But the new coach is not going to impact my role. Besides, Coach Willis told me that the new coach is keeping him, and he is my position coach (LB), so I am in good hands anyway."

So Montgomery reports Spurrier and Mobile is reporting its Muschamp. Can someone tell me who Huntsville, B'ham, and Dothan are reporting will be the coach?

We have not heard from the the Opelika-Aubrun news and The Columbus Ledger yet...

That is one confusing/contradicting statement if you ask me? It sounds like he is a clueless as the coaching staff...

Based on what we've talked about before this one would almost shock me. Nothing totally shocks me anymore in college football though.

Only reason I have a hard time believing any of this is the "coach in waiting" deal back a month or so ago. If that was the case why even do that/allow it? He had to know the rumblings of Tubberville firing were already alive. Why even go through the whole Texas pc? It's not like this is a new development.

Also based on the fact that Jacobs is still there and is very much running the show I just don't see it. What could have happened to change that I don't know.

If he goes to Auburn and does well, he'll probably still be the coach in waiting at Texas.

Ahhh, so a little OJT. :) Texas certainly had deeper pockets than Auburn.
