auburn takes the series with a 7-5 win. Bama was rowing against the current from the 1st inning on Friday night and only led for 1 of the 25 innings played the past 2 days. There really wasn't a single area of the game where Alabama played well, other than a couple of timely hits and some nice defensive plays. Still, hitters left a lot on their plates at times and there were also a couple of defensive blunders. The main issue though was the starting pitching. Quick easily had the best outing of the trio, but he labored to get through 4 innings. In all, Adams, Quick, and Alcock combined to go just 5 1/3 innings which really put the pen in a bad spot. Credit to auburn for their approach, especially in games 1 and 3... but the Tide starters have to be better. Bama falls to 7-5 in the league, which isn't bad. Next weekend, they return home to face Mississippi State...
