🏈 Michigan sells out its allotment of tickets to season opener against Alabama

The University of Michigan announced Tuesday morning that it has sold its entire allotment of nearly 25,000 tickets to the season opening Cowboys Classic against Alabama in Dallas this fall.

The University of Michigan announced Tuesday morning that it has sold its entire allotment of nearly 25,000 tickets to the season opening Cowboys Classic against Alabama in Dallas this fall. Ticket prices for the event ranged between $125 and $285 and were put on sale Jan. 30.

The game, scheduled for Sept. 1, 2012, in Cowboys Stadium, will pit the defending BCS National Champions against the Wolverines, who are coming off a Sugar Bowl victory, in the first meeting between the two historical powers since a Jan. 1, 2000, meeting in the Orange Bowl.

"We have received unprecedented interest in tickets for the Cowboys Classic game with Alabama," said UM chief marketing officer Hunter Lochmann in a press release. "The demand is on par or greater than our athletic department has ever seen."

Michigan said it could still receive standing room tickets and would make them available to season ticket holders if any come available. Cowboys Stadium allows for nearly 30,000 "standing room" tickets at its maximum capacity.

Alabama and Michigan have met just three times in their history, with the Wolverines leading the series 2-1.

I got mine. My best friend's aunt is a Michigan booster and she got top-tier choice.

My father, my fiance and I will be on the Michigan side, so look for the speck of Crimson in the midst of all that blue.

Roll Tide!

I sure hope I can get mine through Tide Pride. I just don't know what to expect anymore. I could always get them to Chick-Fil-A Classic here in ATL but couldn't touch them to New Orleans. Now I'm wondering if demand will be like N.O. ????? Got the hotel and will get the flight later.....just those dang tickets though!

I've heard from a few that hit the Michigan site to buy theirs. I've seen more threads with people saying they did the same. I don't think Michigan can pull a "Florida State" on tickets sold through their site since it's a neutral field. Who knows? LSU did pretty well getting tickets.

if you don't get them, they will be expensive at jerry world... the drive isn't that bad from bham, I drive about 75-80 and can make it in about 9.5 hours (but guess i'm forgetting you have an in on tickets)

lower level seats to the game last year about 1-2 hours before the game were going for about 250-300 at the ticket places around the stadium. they drop the closer to game time you get.
