Cedar House has been around for a long time, not as long as Walkers though. Walkers had pretty good fried green tomatoes.

A Dollar General?!?!? Da hell?? I grew up in Center Point, and my grandparents lived in Inglenook. My dad loved to take us to Walkers.

I'll look for Cedar House if/when I go back to that area.

Can't tell you how much time I spent at Skate Haven back in the day .

Just saw they are tearing down Erwin's stadium too.

Skate Haven! Yeah! Hours on hours there!

I grew up just a few blocks from Erwin (but lived in the Birmingham city limits... B'ham city school education = moron here). I don't know (or GAF) what Center Point High School is doing with that. New stadium? If they're going to tear it down and start over, Pinson should follow suit. I have coached a number of soccer games in that stadium in the last few years. What a dump! Rocks and dirt on the field and cracked concrete all through the home side stands.
