🏈 🔎 Looking ahead to Georgia. Neither team is the same as they were a matter of week ago.

Agree they played well overall. My post from Sunday am's good, bad, ugly...

Auburn was bringing more than Bama could block at times, it's a numbers game at that point. And fans think the OL sucks when they can't block them all and Simpson is sacked, hurried, or flushed... but that's not always on the OL.

One thing too

Sometimes i saw a recever open underneath. And still waited on down field one to clear. Thats on ty. He had been reading really good.
Seems a little slower

And Kirby probably saw that too.
I just hope we make adjustments on our adjustments.

Well…like I said before…the OL (maybe more like the coaches) better figure it out. They have another huge dose of pressure coming this weekend. Oklahoma and Auburn gave Georgia the blueprint and Kirby is a much better coach than we faced in OK and Auburn.

I wasn't happy with the play calling for that reason. Maybe I just didn't see it but it seemed like no hot routes were available. Should've been some open areas with all the people coming and they definitely didn't exploit it.

I don't understand why fans create their own anxiety. It's just lost on me now, this season, more than ever. I don't get it.
I do not have any anxiety over this game, it’s what I think will happen if we are defeated. My personal opinion is that a team playing in a conference championship should not be punished if they lose bc teams that are not playing in a championship will still get in the playoffs.

Smart & Schumann blitzed Simpson (in the 1st meeting) the same amount that auburn did (I didn't check OU). Results... no sacks for UGA but also no TD's thrown when Simpson was blitzed. At auburn, they got 2 sacks but also gave up 2 TD passes when Simpson was blitzed.

Not having Cuevas, who is a nice weapon in the pass game, this time is going to hurt. But if Simpson makes the right reads and gets the ball out decisively and accurately, Bama is going to have some winning matchups in 1 on 1 coverage.

Kirby is going to call a defense that will put pressure on the QB right away & will not really adjust until he is forced to adjust. He is also going to play man too because he thinks his players are good enough & it gives him a numbers advantage in the box. Therefore, the offense MUST losen up the defense. The last game in Athens, when R Williams dropped that pass in the opening drive of the game, it made Smart defend a little differently because the called defense did NOT stop 'Bama, Williams just dropped it. Therefore, Ty is going to have to make plays & not get so enamored with adjustments, especially if he has a hot hand & isn't swapping out players. Still, he is going to have to stay in that pocket, make reads, & execute. Otherwise, toast.

Just a side note to all that, the crowd noise is NOT going to be what Simpson faced in Athens or on the Plains, so there should be better communication with adjustments. Ty is very good with adjustments (sometimes to cute for his own good) and those adjustments make the Defense think a little bit more & therefore slow their reaction. That favors the Alabama offense.

4th down Management. CKD has shown that there are times that 4th down is just another down to convert. We need to win those 4th down battles early & continue to wear down Jawja's DL, so that we can move the ball in the 4th quarter. I love how this team has a moxy at converting those 4th down battles.

Lastly, no dumb mistakes in special teams & win the turnover battle. If we do this last part well, 'Bama wins.

Which makes the play calling even more puzzling... A lot of times the play calls appeard to be routes in the 10-15 yard range with no hot routes or drop down option. It is hard to see the entire field from TV cameras so maybe that is not the case. It seems like it is ether the play calling or Ty is not giving what the defense givies him.

Keys to me will be turonvers as always. I also hope so many checks late in the play clock which allows the D to disguies and shift late giving he defense the advantage.

Ty plays much better when he is not given so many options in my view. I say that based on the results he gets in two minute offense.

Grubb and Tyhas to make two adjustments with his play calling:
1. Call better plays on first two downs. Avoid 3rd and long situations. His play calling sometime put offense in bad spot. Be smart and don't get cute.

2. Ty needs to cut down on changing plays. He needs to realize that sometime you just have to take what Defense give you. (I know we're not in the huddles so we don't know what was said ) It's possible he is fake changing plays to fool defense to reveal their true intentions.

Can't wait to see what Hill does this Saturday. We will need Hill and Dear to step up big.

The beauty of Hill is that he can catch the ball just as good as Miller can. I think we are in better hands with him as RB1 at the moment. Miller has been a big piece of our last couple of wins against Georgia, so we need Hill to be a presence like that if we want a chance to win.

This is gonna be a tough game for us. Georgia has been on fire, but Georgia Tech slowed them up a bit. We just need to start fast offensively if we want to win. It's gonna be a tough game for us to win this time I feel.
