🏈 🔎 A closer look at this weekends opponent, Georgia.

I've watched their film. Defensively they can generate a pretty consistent pass rush and get after the quarterback. They'll probably show Ty all sorts of looks presnap, blitz wise and coverage wise. Ty has to do a good job of reading it presnap and diagnosing it down as the play progresses. He can't get fooled by what he's seeing, it they're going to tear him up. Our line has to do a good job of pass protection for you to even have a chance to have a good game. Georgia loves to stunt their D-line, and their ILB's when they draw up a blitz. Our line has to do their assignments correctly and not allow them to get a free runner to Ty because they messed up. We've got to be disciplined.

Offensively they're gonna try to establish their run game early and set the tone. We've got to be Gap sound, and physical when fitting our runs and taking on blockers. If we can't at least slow them down running the ball, that opens up sooooo much for their offense to do against us. That is pivotal if we're gonna win this game. And do not discount Stocktons ability to throw the ball, he made some incredible throws against Tennessee that helped them win that game. He can make almost any throw on that field he needs to make, and he takes care of the football while doing so. There's also the challenge of containing in that pocket and not allowing him to make plays with his feet. If we overrun our lanes and lose contain, he will eat Alabama alive. Whenever I can, I'll post film and go into more detail about the game coming up. But just know fellas, from what I've seen so far watching both of these teams film. I'm worried.

It's the lack of gap integrity vs FSU that I can't get out of my head. This is another hostile road game. The D is going to have to play exceptional to stop them. The OL also needs to play their best to keep Ty up right. I don't have confidence yet. They have to show they can do this.

Defense better not let Stockton beat us with his legs, and we better match up with Branch well or we will pay.

Offensively, get that screen game rolling and send the ball downfall. I'm not so worried about the run game, because if we can throw and back their backers into coverage it'll open the run.

Unfortunatley I think the game plan for Georgia is going to be simple and it starts at the LOS. Do not see Bama holding up on either side but would be happy to be wrong.

If there was a side I believe more than the other it's the offensive line. I believe they can reach down deep and get the job done.

Our defensive line is not impressive to me and I'm almost ok with them not even rushing and just maintaining gaps and not allowing busted assignments or running lanes.

We also haven’t seen this DL with TK in the lineup (this season), so maybe they’ll surprise us.

Our ability to keep their run game in check late in the game will be key. Hopefully we’re able to rotate early on and not see a huge drop off.

Looks like you were right and I am happy to be wrong. OL played well. DL well you know...
