🏈 🔎 A closer look at this weekends opponent, Georgia.

One thing I'm trying to justify in my mind. It just sticks out to me a bit.

They rushed for 200 more yards this season than they did last season. It's an easier schedule.

They rushed 50+ times more this year than they did last season. 4 YPC, and an easier schedule, and I'm ...

You stop Stockton when he pulls the ball, you win. Sell out to stop the run. If Gunnar throws for 350 and beats us, so be it, I'll accept that as I know that is highly unlikely. I'll go right back to where I was during the Florida State game if he beats us with his legs. I'll be ready to destroy this staff if they allow that to happen.
Agreed. Make em throw it to beat us.

Gonna have to figure out some kind of running game to offset our passing game though. Last thing we want is to be one dimensional and allow their defense to tee off on Ty.

Take away their run game. Keep them in 3rd and long situations. Make Gunnar uncomfortable. Offense has to score points fast and make Georgia play catch up. Halftime adjustments. Come out with different game plan. We want to go into halftime adjusting for what happened in 1st half, but can't adjust for different plans in 2nd half.

I got good feeling about alabama this week. They got lot to prove and they know they must win on the road.

The only real team that UGA has played so far this year is UTe. Marshall is really down this year and I do not know very much about Austin Peay. We on the other hand were embarrassed by FSU in every facet of the game. ULM and Wisconsin did not provide much in site as to what Bama can actually do.

From what I have seen so far, we have to be very stingy on UT running the football with any consistency, not let the UGA QB have a field day by us getting no pressure on him and we cannot give up big pass plays, especially on 3rd and long. Hopefully, the bye week has given us a chance to improve in certain areas that needed improvement.

We know Georgia will absolutely make adjustments. Crazy enough our lead at Halftime last year wasn't even enough and we needed a play at the end from a true freshman defensive back to secure the win. They did the same against Tennessee, so we better be ready for a four quarter fight.

140 yards....ha...

........You dont really think we are gonna run for 140.......
When Saban had the the HC cap, when we rushed for 140+, we were damn near undefeated. If you go back a couple of seasons ago to the SEC title game, our OL had looked shoddy and everyone was saying we stood no chance. We ran for 114 and won. Some semblance of a run game helps to keep Ty upright and allow our play action game to hurt UGA.

I agree. Gotta. Needa. Wanta. A good run game.
But haven't seen oline doing it....and RBs quick enough to get thru hole when open

I hope our team isn't as psyched out as our fanbase. Last time I checked, we have a pretty good record against uga. I understand now why uga thinks they own us & have the upper hand. They are just parroting what the vocal Bama fan base is saying.

I've watched their film. Defensively they can generate a pretty consistent pass rush and get after the quarterback. They'll probably show Ty all sorts of looks presnap, blitz wise and coverage wise. Ty has to do a good job of reading it presnap and diagnosing it down as the play progresses. He can't get fooled by what he's seeing, it they're going to tear him up. Our line has to do a good job of pass protection for you to even have a chance to have a good game. Georgia loves to stunt their D-line, and their ILB's when they draw up a blitz. Our line has to do their assignments correctly and not allow them to get a free runner to Ty because they messed up. We've got to be disciplined.

Offensively they're gonna try to establish their run game early and set the tone. We've got to be Gap sound, and physical when fitting our runs and taking on blockers. If we can't at least slow them down running the ball, that opens up sooooo much for their offense to do against us. That is pivotal if we're gonna win this game. And do not discount Stocktons ability to throw the ball, he made some incredible throws against Tennessee that helped them win that game. He can make almost any throw on that field he needs to make, and he takes care of the football while doing so. There's also the challenge of containing in that pocket and not allowing him to make plays with his feet. If we overrun our lanes and lose contain, he will eat Alabama alive. Whenever I can, I'll post film and go into more detail about the game coming up. But just know fellas, from what I've seen so far watching both of these teams film. I'm worried.
