šŸ“” #LSU announces it will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID PCR test taken within 72 hours in order to attend a game in Tiger Stadium

Last week, word from someone who works for the athletic department was that there is pressure from some SEC schools to get Sankey to issues a league wide mandate similar to what LSU just released. Supposedly, the SEC wants to leave it up to the individual schools at this point. Seems there is a better than decent chance though that Byrne will implement the policy before UA's first home game, but the predictable blowback that would follow it might be enough to keep it from happening.

There seems to be a legal issue with having someone who isn't vaccinated, and hasn't taken a test, denied access. There are certain areas that, by law, that can't happen but I don't know how that would apply to an entertainment event: "disparate treatment" is what the law read and that's what caught my eye.

I know where a Holiday Inn Express is located ... šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Timing to me would be the ultimate point in a lawsuit in my mind. You took the money, sent the tickets, and then changed policy. Byrne would get a nice two word email from me if he did this.

I'm sure he's been thanked enough!

:D

Probably so. I can only imagine the hotels paid for and reserved, the tailgate packages reserved and paid for, and everything else folks do to prep for a normal football season.

I'm gonna be even more pissed off if the Kickoff game gets changed. That's third party, so really unsure if they'd even be willing to refund you the money, and I am finally getting to take 5/6 of the family for the first time ever and don't want that ruined.

My Grandson, who is a UA Grad student, attended a meeting last night for walk-on prospects. Was told he could not proceed if not vaccinated. He had the virus this Summer. Does not need to be vaccinated and will not be vaccinated. His playing days are over.

An admittedly small study has shown the rate of infection for those who have had the virus previously is twice that of people who have had hte vaccine. Yes, you can get it twice. Not wanting to get into an argument about whether to get it or not, just pointing out the science on this thing is moving rapidly.

I've had it, and then I got the vaccine. The antibody count from the vaccine is supposed to be a multiple of that from having actually had Covid.
