šŸ“” #LSU announces it will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID PCR test taken within 72 hours in order to attend a game in Tiger Stadium

Way late in the game to start changing rules don’t ya think? I saw where UGA has made their announcement and it’s business as usual for them. As @TerryP said, imagine the issues at the gate. Poor ticket taker already screws up enough, now you want to add this to their plate!! There will be some serious issues!!
Personally, I think if the school mandated vaccines for all students, faculty and staff, then this would likely be a non issue. To me, you open up Pandora’s box saying, ā€œwhile we don’t require X group, we will require it of Y and Z!! Lawsuits a brewing!

In reference to the original post, this will not be enforced for crap at any stadium. The ticket takers have enough trouble making sure to get every ticket. No way they bother more than pretending to look for the vaccine/test record. On top of it the cards are easy to fake and they are allowing you to show a picture of the vaccine card, not even requiring an original (protocols here)

Yesterday I went to a taping of Battle Bots(Vegas). They asked for proof of vaccine or negative test. I got the shot, so I wasn’t concerned too much. But I did notice that they had a mobile test station there in the parking lot. Obviously a way smaller event and venue, but just an observation of handling. The Raiders/Allegiant are requiring proof, but they are also allowing no masks. šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø I don’t know.

SEC rivals taking initially opposite stances on COVID requirements for football gamedays.

On the same day that LSU, largely mirroring the earlier edict of the New Orleans Saints, announced it would require either proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative test, University of Georgia officials confirmed a published report that the school had no such plans at this time.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution first reported Tuesday that the Bulldogs' plans were to fully open the 92,746-seat Sanford Stadium to maximum capacity for the 2021 campaign. Georgia, preseason No. 5 in both the Associated Press Top 25 and USA Today Coaches Polls, is scheduled to host six games between the hedges in Athens, Georgia.

Georgia officials earlier in the spring announced that they intended to resume normal operations under full capacity in the fall.

Spikes in positive COVID-19 cases, particularly in Southern states, have commanded headlines for several weeks as the coronavirus' Delta variant has become a major component of the virus' latest phase. The United States has reported approximately 38 million positive COVID tests with approximately 630,000 deaths reported as caused by the virus.

Meanwhile, LSU announced its policy earlier Tuesday.

ā€œAs the flagship institution of the state of Louisiana, our foremost responsibility is to ensure the safety of our students, our supporters, and our community,ā€ President William F. Tate IV said in a statement. ā€œWhile we are aware of the diverse perspectives across the nation regarding masks and vaccinations, we must take all reasonable measures to protect our campus and community, not only on gamedays, but long after guests have left Tiger Stadium.

ā€œThe current threat to our lives, our health, and to our medical systems due to COVID-19 is overburdening our hospitals, and we must do our part to stop the spread.ā€

But you can still spread it and die from it even with these vaccinations and "proof". Wow, doing your part and still letting 100,000 in a stadium. Makes a ton of sense. I laugh, because if you tell people they have to carry a piece of plastic to vote they get all up in arms.

You can also get struck by lightning and die. The odds of dying after vaccination are extremely, extremely low. Nothing is absolute.

I'd say it's just as odd that those wanting strict ID requirements to vote are the ones most vehemently protesting proof of vaccine. It goes both ways.

Or, you can't have it both ways. You have to have proof of vaccination and an ID to show it's your vax card but you don't have to have an ID to vote.

While I don't see these in the same family I do see relationships between the two. The next thing we know they'll be issuing ankle braclets to track where you've been and whom you're around.

Oh, wait. There are some already doing that in the states.

Apparently not so low that it's making the news.

I am not going to get into a debate about electing leaders in this country and proving who you are and being forced to get a vaccination that isn't effective. Vaccinated people are still getting sick, taking up hospital beds, and passing it along to children who can't be vaccinated, so spare me the optics bullshit and let's just call it what it is, bullshit.

Man I love watch Battle Bots! Tombstone is one the best!

Already had a couple tell me it took a C-note for them to get in gate 10 for the Saints game.

Does this smell a lot like a University trying to show they do not have a lack of institutional control problem? Maybe trying to connect dots that do not exist but...

You are wrong again, and this is nothing new to you. I work in a major hospital. Vaccinated folks aren't getting hospitalized or dying. It's a fraction of a percentage.

Spare me your fucking idiocy. Go drink some horse dewormer.

I don't care who the fuck you are. I'm going off what is being reported by Leftist, Righties, and whomever. Vaccinated people are dying and are getting sick, and are being hospitalized you fool. Seen it with my own eyes here at my office. Hopefully with that knowledge you have you're a doctor and not what I think I recall you being which is in the financing part of a hospital.

Go cry me a river with your holier than though "knowledge of working in a major hospital" where I'm sure not even it's own doctors have the same opinions on this virus. Oh wait, I forgot 'your" hospital speaks for every other hospital in America.

I see the stats on vax’d not being hospitalized. Not saying the numbers are made up at all. But I have 3 close friends and 1 family member, all under 50, all vaccinated for 2 months plus and all in the hospital. One with double pneumonia and he’s 42 and in excellent shape. My cousins hubby is borderline needing a ventilator. We’re praying he doesn’t get that bad off but he’s really struggling to breath. We’re all faxed but I still think these numbers aren’t taking something into account. Just based on the people I know.

Hate hearing that. I hope for a full recovery for them.

The science of all of this is still being figured out. We are seeing all of this in real time. We are not used to that. I do think Vaccines help but there is evidence that nothing shuts it down to no risk. At some point someone will figure out the mysteries of the virus.

Just gonna remind folks that no vaccine is 100%. Not a single one. There are human variables involved that mean some people's systems do not respond the same as others. To argue that a small percentage still get sick as a reason to not get it is misunderstanding vaccines completely and possibly willfully.

I agree with you, but I'm in the boat of treat your body right, eat good foods, exercise, and allow your body to fight. It's of no surprise the people most affected have preexisting conditions and are in poor health (whether they realize it or not). As Americans we are consumed with fast paced lives and doing it the easy way. Processed foods out the wazu, sitting behind computers all day (guilty of that for my job), staying so connected with screen time, and a plethora of other things that our health is garbage. Having a strong immune system is a byproduct of a healthy lifestyle. Obese and unclean America has only itself to blame for such a widespread issue. I'm overweight, not my whole life, but my more recent life. Working on fixing that, but know for the most part I have stayed active and been more on that side with my lifestyle than the lazy side. Like you said, sure, you have numbers on each side of the argument, some unfortunate bystanders, but my reasoning is because I'm not putting something in my system to just be part of the crowd because I know I don't need it. After getting a flu shot one year and contracting the flu, I said no thank you to those kinds of vaccinations and will lean on my own health and cleanliness to survive. I've had the virus, was tired for one day, and 8 minths later still have taste and smell problems. My body has been introduced and I feel is more equipped to fight it than before and that's good enough for me. It's worked for me for many years now.
